Jakarta, 17 November 2025 - Indonesian women’s tennis player Janice Tjen delivered an outstanding performance throughout 2025 and has set ambitious targets for 2026. Throughout 2025, the 23-year-old climbed from No. 396 in February to No. 53 in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA) singles rankings. In 2026, Janice aims to break into the WTA Top 30, and potentially the Top 20. Her remarkable rise has been driven by her perseverance and the support of many parties, including PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA).
Janice Tjen said she began playing the sport at the age of seven. During the myBCA talk show at myBCA District One, Jakarta, on Saturday (15/11), Janice shared that one of the most memorable moments of her professional career was qualifying for the main draw of the 2025 US Open Grand Slam last August. Her run in the tournament ended in the second round after facing the 2021 US Open champion, Emma Raducanu.
Her loss at the 2025 US Open did not dampen Janice’s determination. She continued to train and compete in various tournaments, eventually winning both the singles and women’s doubles titles at the WTA 250 Chennai Open with Aldila Sutjiadi. Prior to her triumph in Chennai, Janice also claimed the singles title at the WTA 125 Jinan Open and finished as runner-up at the WTA 250 São Paulo Open.
“My achievements today would not be possible without BCA’s support. Looking ahead, I aim to compete in all the tournaments on the 2026 WTA Tour calendar. I also hope to see more young Indonesian players take to bigger stages and deliver performances that bring international recognition to Indonesia,” Janice said.
Seamless Transactions with myBCA
As a professional athlete competing globally, Janice rarely encounters obstacles in her day-to-day life, especially regarding finances. One product that has been especially helpful for Janice in managing her finances while competing internationally is myBCA. The mobile banking app’s Poket Valas feature allows her to handle overseas transactions with ease.
The tennis player who enjoys gaming admitted that the Poket Valas feature on myBCA is very easy to use. Moreover, the foreign currency pocket now supports transactions in 18 different currencies, including the US Dollar (USD), Singapore Dollar (SGD), Chinese Yuan (CNY), Euro (EUR), and others. With Poket Valas on myBCA, Janice can withdraw cash at ATMs abroad and use her debit card on EDC machines overseas without having to convert to Rupiah.
BCA Director Vera Eve Lim said that BCA is very proud of Janice’s achievements. According to her, one of the reasons BCA supports Janice is the shared values between the company and the tennis player.
“BCA continues to demonstrate consistency in providing the best service to the public, one of which is through the myBCA app. We also see this same consistency in Janice, who is persistent and never gives up, giving her best efforts to become a champion,” said Vera.
According to Vera, Janice’s dedication and perseverance reflect the values that BCA consistently upholds in serving its customers and the public. She added that BCA believes success is achieved through hard work and a commitment to innovation.
“We are committed to encouraging young people to excel in any field, including sports like tennis. Through this commitment, we believe BCA can help them bring honor to Indonesia on the world stage,” said Vera.
