Jakarta, 23 June 2025 – PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) continues its commitment to empowering Indonesian Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through the UMKM BCA Go Export Incubation Program. This year marks the third year of the program, since it was first launched in 2023. Participated by 31 BCA MSMEs customers engaged in the agriculture, food & beverage, art & handicraft business sectors from the Jabodetabek and Lampung regions, the UMKM BCA Go Export Incubation Program 2025 was held in Jakarta, on June 23-26, 2025.
UMKM BCA Go Export Incubation Program 2025 was opened by BCA Director Antonius Widodo Mulyono, and attended by Director General of National Export Development of the Ministry of Trade Fajarini Puntodewi, Deputy for Creative Economy Strategic Development of the Ministry of Creative Economy Cecep Rukendi, Head of the Inclusive and Green Finance Economy Department of Bank Indonesia Anastuty Kusumowardhani, and BCA Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility EVP Hera F. Haryn.
The program is part of “Bakti BCA”, the company's commitment to positively impact all aspects of society, and support the achievement of Indonesia's Sustainable Development Goals. UMKM BCA Go Export Incubation Program is specifically designed to provide education and mentoring for MSME players, so that they can recognize the potential of their products in the international market, expand their market, and face the challenges involved in exporting.
MSMEs are a sector that has an important role in the structure of the Indonesian economy. Based on data from the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs in 2024, the number of MSMEs in Indonesia will reach more than 65 million business units. Their contribution to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) reached 60%, and absorbed 117 million workers, equivalent to 97% of the total national labor force. This data reflects the great potential of the MSME sector, including in driving national export performance.
"We see that the MSMEs sector plays an important role in the structure of the Indonesian economy. However, for them to grow sustainably and compete globally, they need access to the right training, strategic mentoring, and international market networks. Through the UMKM BCA Go Export Incubation Program, we are committed to building an ecosystem that strengthens the readiness of businesses to respond to global challenges, while opening up new opportunities in the global market. We believe that Indonesian MSMEs have the potential to grow and contribute significantly to Indonesia's economic growth," said BCA Director Antonius Widodo Mulyono.
During the 4-day incubation, participants of the UMKM BCA Go Export Incubation Program 2025 had the opportunity to learn from experts in the export sector, understand the rules and regulations of international trade transactions, map their business readiness, prepare the mindset and attitude of exporters, deepen various international payment solutions, and establish networks with other business actors. In addition to the in-class training, BCA also provides mentoring from competent aggregators in collaboration with ICC Indonesia. This aims to assist program participants in finding prospective buyers, conducting business matching, and dealing and shipping products to the destination country.
Two BCA-assisted MSMEs are the latest successful examples of the implementation of the MSMEs BCA Go Export Incubation Program. At the end of 2024, an agriculture-based MSME from Jember successfully shipped its products for the first time to Malaysia & Papua New Guinea. Meanwhile, MSMEs from Padang that produce processed spices managed to penetrate the Thai market for the first time. As of May 2025, the total value of exports created by BCA-assisted MSMEs has exceeded Rp100 billion.
In addition to the UMKM BCA Go Export Incubation Program, BCA's support for Indonesian MSMEs is also manifested through the provision of workshops and facilitation of halal certification issuance. In the period 2023-2024, BCA has organized halal certification training and supported the issuance of around 3,000 halal certificates for MSMEs across Indonesia. In addition, since 2023, BCA has consistently presented fostered MSMEs at Trade Expo Indonesia activities.
"Every successful export achievement is a reflection of the great potential of MSME players in Indonesia. BCA believes that when MSMEs are given access to the right empowerment programs, they will be able to meet challenges and create new opportunities, including advancing to the global level. Going forward, BCA will continue to walk alongside Indonesian MSMEs in their journey to strengthen their competitiveness, and expand their contribution to the national economy. Through Bakti BCA programs, we are committed to being a relevant and adaptive partner at every stage of business growth in Indonesia," said BCA Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility EVP Hera F. Haryn.
