Depok, April 23, 2025 - PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) once again held BCA Berbagi Ilmu, one of BCA's flagship Bakti initiatives, in the form of a public lecture at the Universitas Indonesia, Depok Campus, on Monday (21/4). BCA Berbagi Ilmu at UI, which was attended by more than 800 students, was the second event in 2025, after Brawijaya University, Malang, which was held last Monday (17/3).
Located in the Purnomo Prawiro Multipurpose Hall, the public lecture titled 'Developing Effective Leadership Through Self-Development and Technology' was delivered by BCA President Director Jahja Setiaatmadja and BCA Bakti Ambassador Nicholas Saputra. The UI rectorate and BCA management also attended the event.
BCA President Director Jahja Setiaatmadja said, “Today's young generation has enormous challenges, both in terms of time and competition. To meet these challenges, they must have adequate knowledge and skills, especially in mastering technology. As a national bank, BCA feels the need to contribute more to encourage our young generation to be better prepared for the future, while helping the government to take advantage of the demographic bonus period.”
As it is known, the development of technology, geopolitics, and the global economy, resulting in many changes that have a broad and rapid impact. Encouraging quality education is one of the ways that must be taken in preparing the next generation of the nation to face the challenges of this era.
Nicholas Saputra, as BCA Bakti Ambassador, also said that students today must continue to be eager to seek new insights as a provision to face the challenges of the times. “I advise friends to always nurture curiosity, especially since technology is developing faster than ever. Life on campus is one of the golden moments that enrich our insights. That is why it is important for us to continue to be open and sensitive to ideas and information technology that are developing very quickly in this era,” said Nicholas.
The BCA Berbagi Ilmu public lecture program has been implemented by BCA since 2023. Until 2024, the BCA Berbagi Ilmu public lecture series was successfully held at 15 universities in Indonesia and attended by around 10,000 students. In addition to public lectures, the program also features a Student Banking Tour, which invites hundreds of high school and university students to visit BCA branch offices in various cities in Indonesia. Through this activity, students gained first-hand experience of the world of banking and the financial industry.
“The organization of BCA Berbagi Ilmu is motivated by the belief that the younger generation will be the future leaders of the nation, so it is important for us to help equip them to become leaders for themselves and society. Through the Bakti BCA umbrella, we are committed to making a positive impact, starting at the individual, community and ecosystem levels,” added BCA EVP Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility Hera F. Haryn.
In addition to BCA Sharing Knowledge, BCA together with RSUI and PMI Depok City also organized a blood donation event titled “Give Blood, Spread Vibes” at Balai Purnomo, UI Depok Campus, on Monday (21/4). This activity is one of BCA's real contributions, especially in the health sector.
A chance to give back at Genera-Z Berbakti
In an effort to increase the participation of the younger generation in creating positive change, Bakti BCA organized a competition entitled “Genera-Z Berbakti” which can be participated in by active students in all universities in Indonesia. In this competition, participants can submit a proposal containing a community service program design that has a positive impact, especially in rural areas. Selected groups will have the opportunity to receive funding and mentoring from Bakti BCA.
The best group has the opportunity to win appreciation with a total value of hundreds of millions of rupiah, certificates, and scientific publication support from BCA.
