BCA Collaborated with Singapore Authority to Develop Eco-Friendly Buildings, Wisma BCA Foresta Recognized as Best Practice Model

Jakarta, 11 December 2024 - PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) has officially collaborated with the Building and Construction Authority Singapore and G-Energy Global Pte Ltd to develop green building projects in Indonesia. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Wednesday (10/12) at Wisma BCA Foresta, BSD.

The MoU signed between BCA and the two institutions aims to support the advancement of eco-friendly technologies and the standardization of green buildings both within BCA and in international projects.

BCA Director Frengky Chandra Kusuma said, “We are honored that Wisma BCA Foresta has been awarded the Green Mark Super Low Energy plaque and selected as a model building for green project development in Indonesia. This achievement reflects the dedication and hard work of our entire team in supporting sustainability efforts in all aspects of our business operations. Through this MoU, BCA is committed to strengthening our role in promoting environmentally friendly practices in Indonesia and beyond, thereby contributing positively to the sustainable development of society and the environment.”

Wisma BCA Foresta is the first building in Indonesia to receive the Green Mark Super Low Energy Building certification from the Building and Construction Authority of Singapore. The building has been designated by the Building and Construction Authority of Singapore as a model and best practice for green buildings in Indonesia.

The Building and Construction Authority is a Singapore government agency responsible for developing and regulating safety, sustainability, and accessibility in the building and construction sector. G-Energy is an energy service company (ESCO) that helps organizations operate efficiently and sustainably.

In line with efforts to reduce carbon emissions and improve energy efficiency, Wisma BCA Foresta has been designed to minimize energy consumption through techniques such as a building automation system, a chiller plant management system, and envelope designs and materials that optimize temperature and humidity. The building also features a reverse osmosis potable water system, the use of reclaimed water, and rainwater harvesting. In addition, the installation of solar panels helps reduce reliance on electricity from fossil fuel sources, making it a comprehensive green building. These technologies are managed by BCA's Energy Management Team in the Logistics and Buildings Division, contributing to the creation of an energy-efficient building.

Wisma BCA Foresta also provides public facilities, including an Electric Vehicle Charging Station (SPKLU) accessible to the public. Since its inauguration three years ago, the building has garnered various recognitions and accolades.

Building category, subcategory New and Existing Buildings. It also ranked first in the Energy Efficient Building category, subcategory New Buildings, at the Subroto Award for Energy Efficiency (PSBE) 2022. Furthermore, Wisma BCA Foresta received a Platinum-level Greenship certification from the Green Building Council Indonesia (GBCI) in 2021 for the existing building category.

Aligned with Wisma BCA Foresta’s achievements, BCA’s credit distribution for sustainable sectors continues to grow. As of September 2024, sustainable sector loans grew by 10.7% year-on-year, reaching IDR 214 trillion, contributing approximately 24.3% of BCA’s total financing portfolio.
