Presenting to 1000 UNPAR Students, BCA Vice President Director Emphasizes the Importance of Innovation to Strive in the Future

Bandung, November 8, 2024 - PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) continues to demonstrate its commitment to human resource development in Indonesia. This time, BCA demonstrated this commitment through its participation in a public lecture at Parahyangan Catholic University (UNPAR), Bandung, Friday (8/11/2024).

The event was a continuation of BCA's support for the development of UNPAR students and graduates, who had previously attended online public lectures with BCA. This activity is also part of a series of Inspirational Talk events ahead of UNPAR's 70th Anniversary on January 17, 2025.

The public lecture was held at UNPAR's PPAG 2 Auditorium, and attended by more than 1000 UNPAR students and graduates who enthusiastically listened to the presentation of BCA Vice President Director Armand W. Hartono. The event themed Infinite Journey: Priceless Inspiration from BCA was opened by UNPAR Rector Tri Basuki Joewono and attended by Head of BCA Region I Office Weminto Suryadi.

Infinite Journey: Priceless Inspiration from BCA was chosen as the title of this public lecture to represent the core of Armand Hartono's presentation, which shared his experiences and valuable lessons from BCA, which has been in operation for 67 years. Armand emphasized the importance of innovation in meeting customer needs amidst rapid technological developments.

“innovations enable us to support BCA customers to this day. We hope that students can see the importance of being adaptive and not afraid to innovate, especially in this dynamic era. The courage to innovate is needed so that we can become people who are ready to face global challenges and contribute positively to society,” Armand said.

UNPAR Rector Tri Basuki Joewono said that Armand Hartono's presence at UNPAR is expected to inspire the campus academic community, both students and graduates, in facing the challenges of the increasingly complex world of work in the midst of the times.

“Today's activities are in line with UNPAR’s spirit of ensuring that its students and graduates continue to be the answer to the challenges. Collaboration with various stakeholders in the Business and Industry sectors (DUDI), like the one we are having with BCA today, serves as a real example of aligning learning activities outside the classroom,” said Tri Basuki Joewono.

He hopes that Armand W. Hartono's track record and experience as a professional can serve as valuable lessons for the younger generation, especially the academic community of UNPAR to become individuals of value and impact for society.

BCA's involvement in public lectures such as this is a form of the company's commitment to support efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). BCA hopes that activities like this can contribute to preparing UNPAR graduates to become competitive individuals who are ready to be part of the 2045 golden generation.

In addition to being involved in public lectures held by universities, BCA also regularly holds similar events under the BCA Berbagi Ilmu program. Throughout 2024, BCA Berbagi Ilmu has been held at 10 universities, namely BINUS University, Diponegoro University, Bandung Institute of Technology, Sriwijaya University, Udayana University, Petra Christian University, Atma Jaya University Yogyakarta, Islamic University of Malang, President University, and Sam Ratulangi University.

In addition to the public lecture, BCA Berbagi Ilmu also held a Student Banking Tour that took hundreds of high school students to BCA branch offices in various regions. As part of its commitment to support inclusive education, BCA Berbagi Ilmu also held The Beauty of Disabilities program: Makeup Class with BCA. This program provides Makeup Artist (MuA) training and professional certification for individuals with disabilities.

“We hope to inspire students to become individuals who are not only ready to face global challenges but also able to contribute positively to society. BCA believes that an empowered and insightful young generation will have a significant impact on the progress of the nation, as well as creating a stronger and more sustainable ecosystem in the future,” said Armand.
