Jakarta, 10 October 2023 – PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA), through BCA Learning Service, is once again hosting Indonesia Knowledge Forum (IKF) XII 2023 as a platform to share insights, inspire, and raise awareness of sustainability values in an effort to achieve and sustain long-term economic stability. Under the theme "Eco-Creation: Empower Sustainability through Partnerships and Digitalization," IKF will be held for 2 days on 10-11 October 2023 at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Pacific Place, Jakarta.
During the opening ceremony of IKF XII 2023, BCA President Director Jahja Setiaatmadja expressed, “BCA firmly believes in the significance of comprehensive understanding when addressing the challenges of building a sustainable economy. Through IKF XII 2023, we are committed to unlocking the potential for cross-sector collaboration and leveraging digital technology-driven innovation to create eco-friendly solutions for sustainable economic development through ecological framework.”
On the other hand, Rachmat Kaimuddin, Deputy Coordinating Maritime Affairs and Investment, stressed the significance of cross-sector cooperation and partnerships to advance sustainable economic growth at the opening. He stated, “Collaborative and efficient utilization of diverse resources in Indonesia can accelerate the transition to a sustainable green economy in the face of climate change. This synergy is seen as a pivotal means to seize opportunities that will drive the realization of Indonesia Emas 2045 and hasten progress towards achieving the Net-Zero Emission target by 2060.”
Indonesia is currently faced with the dual challenges of shifting global economic dynamics and the escalating impacts of climate change. Given these circumstances, IKF XII 2023 holds significant relevance. In response to these challenges, BCA, through IKF XII 2023, is dedicated to actively contributing to the development of a sustainable economy that actively promotes environmental preservation.
More than 40 inspiring speakers are featured at this event, including Deputy Coordinating Maritime Affairs and Investment Rachmat Kaimuddin, Director of the Fiscal Policy Agency at the Indonesian Ministry of Finance Adi Budiarso, Director of Energy Conservation at the Indonesian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Gigih Udi Atmo, Head of the Industrial Services Standardization and Policy Agency at the Indonesian Ministry of Industry Doddy Rahadi, Economist and BCA Independent Commissioner Raden Pardede, Presidential Special Staff Angkie Yudistia, Senior Actress Christine Hakim, Content Creator Raditya Dika, and more.
“We hope that IKF XII 2023 can inspire many stakeholders, including governments, institutions, and businesses, to collaborate in encouraging investment in sustainability sectors. Additionally, IKF XII 2023 must provide solutions that will not only lead to positive changes in economic growth but also support environmental preservation,” Jahja concluded.
As a matter of information, BCA allocated approximately IDR 76 trillion for green financing in the first quarter of 2023, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 4.9% compared to the previous year. BCA has extended loans amounting to IDR 60.4 trillion for natural resources and land use, IDR 7 trillion for sustainable transportation, and IDR 2.9 trillion for renewable energy financing. Furthermore, BCA also provided loans totaling IDR 327 billion to promote the adoption of electric vehicles during the same period.
