BCA Cafe III: Support Indonesia Economic Strength, BCA Facilitated Creative People Development

Jakarta, September 19, 2016 - At the moment, according to Central Bureau of Statistics, the development of economic creative is showing a positive picture. The sector grew by 5.76 percent or above the national economic growth of 5.74 percent, with added value of Rp 641.8 trillion or 7 per cent of the national GDP.

Within the Medium Term Development Planning of Creative Economy Agency (Bekraf) 2015-2019, it was mentioned that the acceleration of the creative economy growth is one of the indicator of the nation’s economic growth. The policy for the creative economy growth is aiming at facilitating creative people along the value chain, from the creation stage, to production, distribution, consumption, and conservation.

As a form of support for the Indonesian economic growth, especially through creativity and knowledge based industry, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA), through BCA Learning Service, will organize Indonesia Knowledge Forum  (IKF) V with the theme Moving Our Nation To The Next Level: “Optimizing Knowledge and Creativity  to Ride the Wave of New Generation in Accelerating Indonesia Economy,”.

To welcome IKF, which will be held on October 6-7, 2016, BCA carried a talkshow titled BCA Café 3, with the theme “Creative People: Indonesia’s New Generation of Economic Strength”. The event was held on Monday, September 19, 2016, in Menara BCA, Jakarta, and was opened by BCA President Director Jahja Setiaatmadja. Present as speakers for the event were Tourism and Creative Industry Observer from UGM Center of Tourism Studies Erda Rindrasih, Vice Chairman of APINDO Department of Cultural Based Creative Economy Solihin Sofian, Economic Observer Cyrillus Harinowo, Kratoon Channel CEO Andi Martin, BCA Learning Service GM Lena Setiawati, and Chairman of Bandung Creative City Forum (BCCF) Fiki C. Satari.

Jahja explained, that creative industry practitioners need to be facilitated in their creative activities, as well as in appropriate production scale and getting access to the market. The new businesses in creative industry also need to be facilitated in developing the market, as well as building a repository for creative based products. “This only affirms two substantial matters, which are the presence of Creative People (CP) in the chain of creation, production, distribution, consumption, and conservation; as well as the institution which supported the development of Creative People. Therefore, as a form of support for the presence of Creative People, BCA is making various efforts to increase the number and capacity of Creative People, one of them is through IKF 2016,” he continued.

IKF V, which will be held in Ritz Carlton Pacific Place Hotel, Jakarta, will feature Indonesian Coordinator Minister for Economy, as the keynote speaker, as well as other inspirational national speakers. Among others, Emirsyah Satar (Chairman of MatahariMall.com), Yohanes Surya (Founder of Yayasan Surya Institute),  Abdullah Azwar Anas (Regent of Banyuwangi), Fauzi Ichsan (Executive Chairman of Indonesia Deposit Insurance Corporation), William Tanuwijaya (CEO of Tokopedia), Pandji Pragiwaksono (Indiepreneur, Stand-Up Comedian), and 12 others renowned speakers.

Talkshow with the theme “Creative People: Indonesia’s New Generation of Economic Strength” was a discussion in the spirit of welcoming IKF, which will be held on the coming October 6-7, 2016. The Talkshow also featured Vice Chairman of APINDO Department of Cultural Based Creative Economy Solihin Sofian, Kratoon Channel CEO Andi Martin, and Chairman of Bandung Creative City Forum (BCCF) Fiki C. Satari.
