Batam, 13 August 2016 - PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) reaffirmed its commitment to support the Government in promoting National Non-Cash Movement by launching Flazz card Integrated Financial Services (LENTERA). The card’s launching coincided with the second anniversary of National Non-Cash Movement (GNNT) initiation by Bank Indonesia.
At the launch, 1,000 Lanterns cards will be distributed to fishermen in Riau Islands by Bank Indonesia Governor Agus DW Martowardojo, BCA Director Santoso, MURI Chairman of Jaya Soeprana, as well as bank management and other LENTERA card providers.
"It felt like it was only yesterday when Bank Indonesia first launched the GNNT program, yet it has been running for two years. We can see the [result of the] joint efforts from various supporting agencies as the community begins to shift from cash to non-cash payment instrument. BCA, as one of the national private banks whose vision is to be the public’s bank of choice, sought to serve as an important pillar in the Indonesian economy by contributing to the GNNT program in a variety of ways, including by offering promotions to use non-cash BCA facilities and a variety of non-cash payment products, including the LENTERA card launched today," Santoso explained.
LENTERA card may be used by fishing communities as payment instruments to purchase fishing gears at the cooperatives. In the future, this card is expected to be used to channel aid to fishing communities in the Riau Islands. "With the presence of Flazz LANTERN card, we hope the fishing community can begin the switch to non-cash instruments. This greatly improves access to banking facilities for fishermen," Santoso concluded.
LENTERA card distribution also attracted the attention of the Indonesian Record Museum (MURI). Bank Indonesia, together with five other banks, broke MURI record by introducing non-cash transactions to fishermen in Batam, Riau Islands.

Participation Flazz LENTERA BCA card is compelling evidence BCA’s support for National Non-Cash Movement.
