Jakarta, July 15, 2016 - PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) took home another achievement from international banking industry when it received Euromoney Awards for Excellence in Indonesia Best Bank category. The award recognized BCA’s solid performance in the midst of the economic slowdown in 2015. BCA Head of Electronic Banking Services Joanes Justira Gunawan received the award in Hong Kong (15/7).
“The year 2015 was full of challenges for the economy and Indonesia’s banking industry. However, BCA successfully maintained a solid performance in national banking, and was able to utilize various arising business opportunities. BCA achieved this by remaining focus on providing consistent high quality customer service, strengthening its banking transaction franchises, and proactively maintaining credit quality,” explained Joanes.
BCA achieved a net profit growth of 9.3% to Rp 18.0 trillion, compared to Rp 16.5 trillion in the previous year. Supported by loan portfolio growth and lower cost of funds, BCA Net Income Interest rose by 12.0% to Rp 35.9 trillion. At the same time, other operational income increased by 28.5% to Rp 12.0 trillion in 2015. BCA loan portfolio was recorded at Rp 387.6 trillion or a 11.9% growth from the previous year. The loan growth was seen in all segments, especially driven by corporate segment growth.
The consistent application of prudent principles in loan disbursement have made it possible for BCA to maintain Non-Performing Loan ratio at a low level of 0.7% with the NPL reserve ratio of 322.2%. “Positive business and financial performances in 2015 were the keys that confirmed BCA’s position as the best bank in Indonesia according to Euromoney Awards for Excellence 2016,” Joanes continued.
Euromoney Awards for Excellence is an award established by Euromoney magazine, and has been around for 25 years. The event is the most prestigious award in the financial industry, and aimed to give appreciation to entities offering the best service, innovation, and expertise to their customers.
