Banyuwangi, May 19th, 2016 - PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) actively supports the sustainability of quality tourism in Indonesia. This time, BCA inaugurated Taman Sari Tourism Village as one of BCA's foster villages. The inauguration of Taman Sari Tourism Village is part of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Bakti BCA, a pillar of Superior Business Solution.
This inauguration was held on May 19, 2016 in Banyuwangi. Head of BCA Malang Regional Office VII Djoko Rosmiatun, Taman Sari Tourism Village Chief Risal Saputra, and Banyuwangi Deputy Regent Yusuf Widyatmoko attended the event to inaugurate Taman Sari Tourism Village by signing a stone inscription by both parties.
“BCA is committed to actively become a patron for some communities to be able to develop the region's potentials. We hopes to be able to take part in improving prosperity through developing regional potential, which will eventually attract domestic and international tourists. The presence of tourists will expand business opportunities and create employment for local residents. After a few training and mentoring, today we inaugurate Taman Sari Tourism Village as one of BCA's Foster Villages," Djoko explained.
At the same occasion, BCA also launched Warung with Rumah Osing design, and Tourist Information/Secretary Office of Taman Sari Tourism Village, and presented one computer and printer to support operational needs. Donation of village infrastructure is hoped to sustain quality tourism in Taman Sari Tourism Village. Adequate facilities can further support village management to provide the best tourism customer service.
Taman Sari Tourism Village is known for its rubber, cloves, coffee, and chocolate production. Additionally, the village is rich with flora and fauna diversity, as well as sulphur mines around Kawah Ijen Nature Park. Tourists are greeted by beauty of nature and culinary delight. “Presently, the tourism sector is booming, and plays an important role for Indonesians. BCA continues to come up with efforts to develop villages to attract more tourists. We believe that this inauguration is only the first step for Taman Sari Tourism Village," Djoko continued.
One of the prominent potentials of Taman Sari Tourism Village is the world renowned Gunung Ijen. This year, Gunung Ijen was named a winner of world-class tourism award by The World Tourism Organization (UNWTO). Two months later, Gunung Ijen Nature Park and Alas Purwo National Park in Banyuwangi Regent were named by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as one of world biosphere network reserves. The synergy between local people and many parties will help develop and organize the tourism potentials in the region.
Before the inauguration of Taman Sari Tourism Village, BCA previously organized benchmark evaluation for Taman Sari Tourims Village management against Pentingsari Tourism Village and Bejiharjo Tourism Village. The management team of Taman Sari Tourism Village was invited to observe tourism industry at other villages. Training is one of BCA's effort in creating a professional foster village with excellent industry qualities.
At the same occasion, BCA presented a donation worth Rp125 million to Banyuwangi Sea Turtle Foundation to fund the release of baby turtles at Boom Beach, Banyuwangi. BCA hopes that its presence can extend beyond banking transactions for customer needs, but also reach into national development, such as the tourism industry. “BCA’s donation is an extension of BCA customers, who have entrusted BCA as a service derivative bank for their various banking needs," Djoko concluded.
