Jakarta, 19 January 2022 – The Indonesian government resumes its COVID-19 vaccination program in 2022 and aims to have everyone vaccinated as soon as possible. Last year, the government issued a policy that encouraged vaccinated people to get their booster shots to boost their immunity against the virus. To support the government in combating the pandemic, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA), as part of the national bank industry, has prepared a vaccination center in East Jakarta to provide booster shots for adults and children. It also offers the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine for unvaccinated people and the second dose for those who have received the first one.
The vaccination center is located at Wira Purusa LVRI Building, Duren Sawit District, East Jakarta, and opens throughout January 17th and 22nd. The location is easily accessible and allows a more convenient vaccine distribution. The vaccination center is expected to vaccinate approximately 5,000 people. Anyone can get vaccinated for free by signing up via the JAKI app or simply visiting the vaccination center during its opening hours.
Providing a vaccination center is part of BCA's corporate social responsibility program. The initiative is also part of its Peduli Insan Perbankan Movement to support the Nationwide Vaccination Acceleration Program and accomplish its #BCAForSustainability mission this year.
"Vaccination programs initiated by private companies are very helpful for the government and can accelerate herd immunity in Indonesia, mitigating the COVID-19 impact. BCA remains committed to providing vaccination centers for the people in various regions of the country. Besides vaccination centers, BCA has helped other institutions launch their vaccination programs. Our vaccination center is the fruit of our collaboration with the Financial Services Authority (OJK), Bank Indonesia (BI), the DKI Jakarta Provincial Health Agency, and the Jakarta Provincial Government," said Jahja Setiaatmadja, President Director of BCA.
Previously, BCA helped organize vaccination programs for children at West Jakarta, Klaten, Malang, and Lombok schools. BCA hopes the vaccine can improve the children's immunity and protect them from the virus.
BCA continues to support the government in handling the pandemic and prioritizing the safety of employees and customers. BCA has implemented its work-from-home policy as per the government regulation and promoted the "Banking from Home" campaign. BCA previously launched its Gotong Royong Vaccination Program for employees and provided vaccination centers in different parts of Indonesia through collaboration with the regional governments and authorities. In December 2021, 98.5% of BCA employees received two doses of the Covid-19 vaccine or at least its first dose. In total, BCA has provided vaccines for more than 238,000 people, including employees, their families, and the public.
