Jakarta, March 1st 2016 - PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA), through its Bakti BCA program, showed its support for the development of technology-based entrepreneurial ventures among university students. BCA collaborated with Code Margonda to hold a start-up forum gathering in fulfillment of one of Bakti BCA’s pillars Superior Business Synergy (SinergiBisnisUnggul).
The event’s theme Bootstrap Traction for Startup is comprised of product presentation from application developers and three talk show sessions, taking place at Menara BCA, Jakarta on 1 March 2016. BCA Corporate Secretary IngeSetiawati, Code Margonda Founder Tommy Herdiansyah, and three successful technology-based entrepreneurs Jojonomic.com CEO IndrastoBudisantoso, Go-Jek Vice President DayuDaraPermata, andHarukaedu CEO NovistiarRustandi attended the event.
“BCA places a special emphasis on education and the development of digital and technological industry, and through Bakti BCA, we introduce start-up entrepreneurs to established technology entrepreneurs. The younger generation needs to be given a chance to create their own independent projects to allow them to contribute to national economy, one of which is by supporting their entrepreneurial aspirations. The younger generation has great entrepreneurial potentials because they possess the creativity and innovation spirit required in this digital age,” Inge explained.
Inge added that the present digital and technological development must be used in our favor. With a population of nearly 250 million, Indonesia has the potential to become a digital technology giant and a large smartphone market. Jojonomic.com, for example, provides financial management solution for those who do not have the time to effectively manage their financials. Go-Jek is another business that sees potential in urban market, by providing transportation to highly mobile customers using ojek through its app. Finally, Harukaedu provides online learning facilities.
”We are pleased to see that start-ups are eager to find successful business methods to add to their knowledge and skills at the event. Start-ups need to prepare themselves not only for rapid digital technology development, but to contribute to national economy in the future,” Inge continued.
The event was attended by start-ups with various levels of academic background and representatives from various fields who uses information and technology. With the addition to the three keynote speakers, BCA and Code Margonda invited several start-ups, such as Doctor Deposit Boz, Freenesia, and Krona, as well as two special guests YansenKamto and WicakHidayat. The presence of young successful entrepreneurs and special guests was hoped to encourage the start-ups to take risks and move forward with their dreams.

It is time for the younger generation to pursue and realize their dreams, especially since this digital age provides amazing opportunities in various fields,” Inge concluded.
