BCA 59th Anniversary Activities: BCA Hosted "Developing Your Personal Impact and Influence" in Serang to Develop Educator Capacity

Serang, February 3rd 2016 - PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) returned its attention to the development of educator quality in Indonesia. To show this support, BCA hosted an Educator Seminar with the theme “Developing Your Personal Impact and Influence.” The teaching seminar is part of BCA’s 59th Anniversary activities in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Bakti BCA Smart Solution pillar.

Widanarto, SMAN 3 Kota Serang Principal Nurdiana Salam attended the event held at SMA Negeri 3 Serang, Banten, Wednesday (3/02). Communication practitioner Moh Subagio of PT Moh Subagio Indonesia was the keynote speaker for two seminar sessions.

“In its 59th year, BCA wishes to show its commitment to our nation’s advancement by developing the quality of our educators. We cannot den that teachers are our students’ guardians at school, who are not only responsible for teaching materials from the curriculum, but for nurturing positive character in students. The dynamic young generation provides challenges teachers to innovate their teaching styles, so that the materials remain relevant and can be well digested by the students,” ujar Lim Hauw Tjioe.

Moh Subagio added that the teaching seminar is hoped to inspire educators to have a new perspective in the education system in Indonesia, which itself has progressed rapidly in concurrent with the times. Educators are not only responsible for intellectual capacity, but also to nurture our younger generation to be ready for competition in the future. In carrying out this responsibility, teachers need to update their knowledge and skills to be able to work effectively and professionally. Additionally, educators must be aware of their responsibility to adjust the new 21st century student profile.

The educator seminar was well received by the teachers. Previously, “Developing Your Personal Impact and Influence” teacher seminar was held in Lampung on 9 February 2016 and Yogyakarta on 20 February 2016. This financial literacy education was presented to students at SMPN 6 Serang to provide them with the knowledge and skills to access financial services and products, including savings account.In addition to the seminars, BCA programs included education for high achieving students at

Bakti BCA foster school students at SDN Taktakan 1 dan 2 will receive a healthcare education on 4 February 2016, at SDN 7 Gadingrejo Lampung on 9 February 2016, as well as at SDN 1 Banyubening, SDN Kwangen, SDN 1 Ponjong, SDN 2 Ponjong, SDN 2 Candi Baru, and SDN 3 Semanu at Gunung Kidul Yogyakarta on 19 February 2016. 

The educator and student education activities in Serang are concrete implementations of one of Bakti BCA’s pillars Smart Solution. BCA wishes to play a role in increasing education quality in Indonesia. “We are pleased to continue developing education quality in Serang through teaching seminar, financial literacy education for SMP students, and healthcard education for SD students today and in the future,” Sapto Rachmadi concluded.
