Semarang, 8 April 2017 - PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) continues to support the development and improvement of human resources quality in Indonesia. Previously, BCA presented Bakti BCA Scholarship to select accomplished students from Diponegoro University (UNDIP) in the amount of Rp 500 million. This time, BCA holds a leadership training for the recipients of BAKTI BCA Scholarship at the university.
Attending to open the training at Oak Tree Hotel, Semarang, Saturday (08/04)was Acting Head of Regional Development Operation (KPOW) BCA Regional Office II Eko Hindarto with Vice Rector of Academic and Student Affairs UNDIP Muhammad Zainuri and Director of Student Affairs UNDIP Handjojo Djoko Waloejo. The leadership training was conducted on April 8-9, 2017 and aimed at preparing selected accomplished students of UNDIP to face today’s highly competitive world of work.
“In the 60th anniversary of BCA, BCA is committed to Become Better through its three pillars of Learn Better, Serve Better, and Give Better. The training is a reflection of BCA’s commitment to Give Better to Indonesia’s young generation. It aims to help college students to recognize and explore their potential that can be developed in pursuing career in the working world. We hope this leadership training helps students to foster positive character traits in their career, whether as entrepreneurs, private employees or civil servants,” said Eko.
According to data from Statistics Indonesia (BPS) 2016, the unemployment rate (TPT) in Indonesia in August 2016 reached 7.03 million people or equivalent to 5.61% of 125.44 million of the nation’s labor force. The unemployment rate of 5.6% means that from 100 labor force, there are approximately 5 or 6 unemployed persons. Therefore, BCA intends to hone the leadership skills of UNDIP students who are expected to contribute to reducing unemployment in Indonesia.
To equip the students with the training, BCA had involved Qando Coaching as the facilitator of the leadership training. “Through this leadership training, UNDIP students will be provided with useful insights into the work ethos, motivation, creativity, and innovation. In addition to that, students will also be introduced to a wide range of professions, leadership skills, as well as tips for adapting to a new workplace,” Eko continued.
A day earlier, the UNDIP students also attended a mentoring program held at BCA Regional Office II, Jalan Pemuda, Semarang. The mentoring was expected to inspire the students to work in the working world later on. In the mentoring program, the management BCA also shared their experience and knowledge about BCA’s dedications to provide the best banking services to its customers for over 60 years.
“We hope this leadership training can provide added values for UNDIP students, especially for Bakti BCA scholarship fund recipients, so that they can prepare themselves well, become professional and capable human human resources, and be well educated entrepreneurs, who contribute to job creation in Indonesia,” Eko concluded.

The “Star Leader”-themed leadership training of Diponegoro University students aimed to foster a positive character and explore the potential of outstanding UNDIP students which is essential to develop in pursuing career in the world of work. Through the training, BCA intended to hone leadership skills of UNDIP students who are expected to contribute to reducing unemployment in Indonesia.
