Increasing Sales Turnover Growth of Indonesian Coffee Entrepreneurs, BCA Supports the Indonesian Coffee Festival in Russia

Jakarta, November 30, 2021 – Coffee is one of the leading agricultural commodities that has a significant contribution to the Indonesian economy. Based on data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) regarding agricultural exports in October 2021, it is recorded that coffee occupied the largest portion of agricultural exports of 22.63 percent. PT Bank Central Asia Tbk. (BCA) observes that the potential for coffee is currently quite promising, starting from the domestic coffee beverage and coffee shop business to exporting coffee beans and products abroad.

BCA's support for the Indonesian Coffee Festival in Russia is an action to the MSMEs Ready to Export program at the BCA MSMEs Fest awhile ago, and as a concrete manifestation to support #BanggaBuatanIndonesia and #BanggaLokal National Movements. This year is the third year of the Indonesian Coffee Festival and the first time BCA has participated in and supported the event which took place on Tuesday (11/30).

”As part of the financial system and the national economy, BCA is always committed to support the national economy recovery, including supporting MSMEs. We want to bring the good name of Indonesian MSMEs, especially those in the coffee business, to the Indonesian Coffee Festival in Russia," Director of BCA John Kosasih said.

The Indonesian Coffee Festival is a form of collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Moscow, Russia. BCA provides assistance for assisted sellers to be able to improve quality and maintain consistent marketing standards, as well as to assist in the sample delivery process.

“We hope that this support can increase awareness of the potential of Indonesian coffee in the international market. Not limited to that, we hope that after this event ended, sellers can continue to export coffee to Russia and other countries," John said.

From the total participants of the Indonesian Coffee Festival in Russia, eight coffee entrepreneurs are MSMEs assisted by BCA graduated from BCA MSMEs Fest and the BCA Bangga Lokal program, from Jakarta, Semarang, Medan, Bali, and Flores. These eight sellers offer a variety of coffee variants, including Arabica, Robusta, Luwak, Gayo, Flores, Green Coffee, and Bali Kintamanis.

“This is in line with BCA's efforts to accelerate the realization on Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This program implements this aspect. We hope that the existence of this program can have a positive impact on all MSMEs in Indonesia and increase enthusiasm to get out of a situation full of uncertainty," John concluded.
