BCA Supports National Seminar Event: ‘The Rise of SOE’s Transportation Sector’

Jakarta, 28 August 2018 – The role of State-Owned Enterprises (SOE) in various sectors has encouraged PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) to take the initiative to contribute to the long-term development of the Indonesian economy. Its effort was elaborated further at a National Seminar called “The Rise of SEO’s Transportation Sector’ initiated by the Center of Studies for BUMN, supported by BCA and Prof. Dr. Moestopo (Beragama) University in Jakarta, Tuesday (28/08).

The event was opened by BCA’s Independent Commissioner Cyrillus Harinowo who also served as a Counselor for the Center of Studies for BUMN of the Faculty of Economics & Business of Prof. Dr. Moestopo (Beragama) University together with Minister of Transportation of the Republic of Indonesia Budi Karya Sumadi, President Director of Garuda Indonesia Pahala N. Mansury, Chairman of the Committee for the National Seminar the Rise of SOE Transportation Sector Tjipta Purwita, Deputy for Mining, Strategic Industries & Media of the State-Owned enterprises Ministry of the Republic of Indonesia Fajar Harry Sampurno, Director of Human Resources and General of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) Ruli Adi, and President Director Pelindo I Bambang E. Cahyana.

Under the topic of “The Rise of SOE’s Transportation Sector”, Cyrillus Harinowo said that the contribution of SOEs to welfare in Indonesia can now be widely enjoyed by the Indonesian public. Especially in transportation sector that brings long-term positive impacts for the people. Therefore, as the largest private bank in Indonesia, BCA has never stopped contributing to infrastructure development in Indonesia.

“BCA has involved in various financing projects for State-Owned Enterprises including its recent project in syndicated loan distribution of Rp1.7 trillion to PT Jasamarga Elevated Toll Road Cikampek (JJC) as State-Owned Enterprise in Indonesia appointed by the government to develop The Jakarta-CIkampek II Elevated Toll Road project last July 2018,” continued Cyrillus.

“BCA realizes that existence of BUMN should be supported by all parties. BCA’s contribution to SOEs is an evidence of BCA’s commitment to realizing its corporate vision of becoming the leading bank of choice that serves as an important pillar of Indonesia’s economy. We hope that the support BCA provides can contribute to supporting the improvement of the national economy and at the same time encouraging SOEs as a powerful business force in Southeast Asia,” said Cyrillus concluded his remarks.
