BCA Disburses Rp1.32 Trillion Syndicated Loan for A.P. Pettarani Elevated Toll Road Project

Makassar, 9 August 2018 – The government has intensified its efforts in developing various infrastructure projects throughout Indonesia, considering the importance of connectivity network across all regions. Understanding this, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) supports the government’s efforts to accelerate infrastructure development in Indonesia. BCA shows its support by disbursing a syndicated loan of Rp1.32 trillion to PT Bosowa Marga Nusantara (BMN), a subsidiary of PT Marga Utama Nusantara (MUN for the construction of A.P. Pettarani Elevated Toll Road in Makassar.   

Attending the signing of the syndicated loan agreement was Executive Vice President of Group Corporate Finance of BCA Susiana Santoso, Vice President of Group Corporate Banking of BCA Yayi Mustika Pudyanti, President Director of PT Bosowa Marga Nusantara (BMN) Anwar Toha, and President Director of Bank Sulselbar Andi Muhammad Rahmat at Four Points Hotel, Makassar, Thursday (09/08).

The syndicated loan consists of conventional financing provided by BCA and Bank Sulselbar. Of the total ceiling of Rp1.54 trillion, BCA disburses a syndicated loan of Rp1.31 trillion and Rp230 billion from Bank Sulselbar. In this syndicated loan agreement, BCA also acts as a Joint Mandated Lead Arrangers and Bookrunners (JMLAB), the Facility Agent, the Security Agent, and the Escrow Agent. The signing of the syndicated loan agreement is valid for 12 years.

The A.P. Pettarani Elevated Toll Road is the first elevated toll road in Makassar, built to overcome the traffic flow density in Makassar since A.P Pettarani has one of the highest road densities in Makassar. The construction of the project is intended to be an additional junction to the Ujung Pandang Toll Road Section I & II (PT BMN), the Pettarani Elevated Toll Road (Section III) which is built above the A.P. Pettarani street.

“We see that the presence of A.P. Pettarani Elevated Toll Road will greatly contribute to the mobility of Makassar people, especially those who access A.P. Pettarani. BCA hopes that with the Makassar’s first elevated toll road will be a solution to control traffic congestion in Makassar. Not only that, we also hope that the elevated road will become a new icon of Makassar,” said Susiana.

The 4.4 km Pettarani toll road will connect Soekarno-Hatta Port (Makassar) and Sultan Hasanuddin Airport to business district & city center, namely from the Boulevard Panakukkang to Sultan Alaudin. The construction. Of Pettarani Toll Road starts from the end of section II toll road, precisely at the Urip Sumoharjo Junction passing the Boulevard Panakkukkang Junction, Jl. Hertasning and ends at Sultan Alauddin Junction. With the incorporation of the Pettarani Toll with the existing toll road, it turns all section I-III into an open operating system.

Previosly, BCA had disbursed syndicated loans to PT Jasamarga Jalanlayang Cikampek (JJC) for the construction of the Jakarta-Cikampek II Elevated Toll Road project in July 2018. Not only that, in April 2018, BCA had also disbursed a syndicated loan to PT Jasamarga Semarang Batang to develop the Semarang-Batang section of the North Java Toll Project.

“We hope that this step can provide a positive contribution to the community, as well as support the acceleration of the infrastructure development initiated by the Government. On the other hand, as of the first semester of 2018, BCA had disbursed infrastructure loans amounting to Rp24.7 trillion, the majority of which were distributed to road construction and electricity sector. Not only that, BCA will continue to support various infrastructure in line with the government’s efforts to provide connectivity networks throughout the country. BCA projects that the infrastructure loan distribution is to increase by 31% in 2018,” Susiana concluded.
