Promoting Improved Education in Indonesia, BCA Holds Leadership for Accomplished Students of Mulawarman University

Samarinda, 5 May 2018 – PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) continues its commitment to advance the quality of education and human resources in Indonesia. This time, its commitment is demonstrated through a Leadership Training for accomplished students of Mulawarman University, which takes place on 5-6 May 2018.

Attending to open the program was Operations Branch Chief of KCU BCA Samarinda Tjiong Cie Ye and Deputy Rector 3 of Universitas Mulawarman Bibit Suhatmaji at Hotel Puteri Samarinda, Saturday (05/05). The training, which was held on 5-6 May 2018, aimed at preparing select accomplished students of Mulawarman University to face today’s highly competitive working world.

Tjiong said, “BCA sees that the students should learn about leadership skills early because they will become our future leaders. The training initiated by BCA is one of BCA’s efforts to provide value added for the students of UI and IPB as well as to mold them into future leaders who have a strong mental attitude and character.”

“The program is also an expression of BCA’s gratitude that has existed in Indonesian society for 61 years. It is also a form of BCA’s concerns of Indonesian younger generation that aims to help the students to recognize and explore their potential that can be developed in pursuing career in the working world,” explained Tjiong.

To equip the students with the training, BCA had involved Unison as the facilitator of the leadership training. For two days, students will be provided with insights into building leadership capacity in task and self-management, skills to build effective working relationships and administer team differences, developing modern leadership competencies centering on the appropriate principles and process, as well as instilling in them a love for the country and self-motivation to work together and give the best work without any distinction. A day earlier, the Bakti BCA scholarship grantees also attended a mentoring session that serves as a means of personal development through a sharing session with the management of BCA and also a means of interaction between the grantees.

“We hope this leadership training and mentoring can provide broader knowledge and insights for the students of Mulawarman University, especially for Bakti BCA scholarship grantees, so that they can compete in the working world whether as professionals or competent entrepreneurs who also create jobs in Indonesia,” Tjiong concluded.
