Jakarta, 16 April 2018 – In supporting the interconnected ecosystem of domestic payment system, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA), today, on Monday (16/04), launches Paspor BCA GPN cards. This is in line with the government’s commitment to integrate various national instruments and channels of payment in order to create an efficient payment system, improved security, and strengthen the independence of the national payment system.
Attending the launching event was Director of BCA Santoso, Director of BCA Lianawaty Suwono and Executive Director of Electronification and National Gateway Payment Department of Bank Indonesia Pungky P Wibowo in Jakarta, Monday (16/04).
Director of BCA Santoso said, “The launching of BCA GPN Passport cards serves as a form of BCA’s commitment to support the government in optimizing the processing of domestic transactions. By using Paspor BCA GPN cards, payment system efficiency can be achieved through an interbank infrasctrucure sharing in Indonesia. This service will certainly help push the independency of national payment system.”
“The launching of the new Paspor BCA GPN cards, which adhere to the national standards of chip technology, can improve security and customer convenience when conducting domestic transactions,” explained Santoso.
BCA is targeting 2 million Paspor BCA GPN cards issued until the end of 2018. "Until the end of 2018, we’re planning to issue 2 million Paspor BCA GPN cards, which will have a positive impact, not only for the community, but also for industry and merchants,” added Santoso.
Paspor BCA GPN cards will gradually become available at BCA branch offices in Jabodetabek, starting from 16 April 2018. “For the initial stage, customers can obtain Paspor BCA GPN cards at BCA Jabodetabek branches by replacing their old cards with the new Paspor BCA GPN or by opening a new savings account to get the new Paspor BCA GPN card. For particular replacement of magnetic stripe-based Paspor BCA cards is free of charge,” Santoso concluded.
