Padang, 12 April 2018 – Committed to become the leading bank of choice, with an essential role in becoming the main pillar of Indonesia’s economy, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) continues to support the development of MSME segment as one of the main drivers in Indonesia’s economy. This time, BCA’s effort is realized through the Bakti BCA program’s Nowadays Entrepreneurs Seminar, followed by 100 traders from Pasar Raya, Padang.
Attending to open the event was Head of SK CSR of BCA Inge Setiawati, Vice President of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of BCA Ira Bachtar, and Head of Main Brain Office (KCU) BCA Padang Irawady Eddy. Under the theme of ‘Wirausaha Jaman Now’ (translates to nowadays entrepreneurs), the seminar invited BCA’s Economist David E Sumual as a keynote speaker in Padang, Thursday (12/04).
“BCA is constantly striving to improve the various business sectors of society in order to grow and progress independently. Various programs have been prepared to support these efforts. Through continuous programs such as seminars and training, BCA is committed to facilitate MSME actors to develop theur business in the long term,” said Inge.
Some activities that have been done include providing consultation services and training regarding simple financial and taxation report for MSMEs. This time, BCA accommodates the MSME actors in Padang with a seminar titled Wirausaha Jaman Now in order to become a trendsetter, not a follower. Not only that, these actors will also get presentation on Today’s Business Solution, e- Commerce, and practice of product photos.
Lukman added, BCA’s commitment o develop MSME in Padang is one of BCA’s contributions to facilitate and help MSME in various region in Indonesia in developing its businesses. Business Seminars for MSME actors were also held in exploring the potential of loan disbursement in MSME sector. This year, the ration of MSME loan disbursement is set to reach 20 per cent of the total BCA’s loan portfolio. In 2017, commercial and SME loan distributed by BCA amounting to Rp167.49 trillion or increase by 10.3% (YoY).
"Today, the empowerment of MSME can also increase economic activities in Indonesia. We hope that BCA can contribute through the seminars it held to develop MSME in Indonesia so that it can reduce unemployment rate, combat poverty, and create Indonesia’s signature products that can compete both domestically and abroad,” Inge concluded.
BCA Holds Seminar on Nowadays Entrepreneurs – BCA’sEconomist David Sumual gave a presentation on the development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) at the ‘Wirausaha Jaman Now’ seminar, followed by 100 traders from Pasar Raya Padang at Hotel Rocky Plaza, Padang, Thursday (12/04). In addition, the MSME actors were also given an explaination on simple financial and taxation report also how to work on the potential of digital economy in Indonesia.
