Jakarta, 9 April 2018 – PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) is always committed to enhancing the quality of education and improved human resources. This is also in line with the vision and mission of Bunda Mulia University that strives to bridge the education world and industry. Therefore, the commitment is implemented through a seminar organized by BCA for 1000 students of Bunda Mulia University (UBM) highlighting the theme of “Succession Plan of Family Business in Digital Revolution” in Jakarta, Monday (09/04).
The seminar was opened by Senior Advisor of UBM Prof. John J.O.I Ihalauw and invited Deputy President Director of BCA Armand Wahyudi Hartono as keynote speaker and Vice Dean of Academic Affairs Kandi Sofia Senastri Dahlan, MBA., PhD as the moderator. Also attending the event was Founder of Yayasan Pendidikan Bunda Mulia Djoko Susanto, Rector of Bunda Mulia University Doddy Surja Bajuadji, Head of BCA Regional Office XII Freddy Suliman and members of BCA and UBM management.
Business development in Indonesia has changed along with the revolution in technology, including the family business. Family-based businesses in Indonesia occupy the leading position in the Southeast Asian region, especially in planning and preparing for leadership succession. According to the EIU (The Economist Intelligence Unit) research, as many as 78 per cent of family businesses in Indonesia have set up a plan for succession. “Family business will continue to progress from generation to generation as long as it can keep up with the changing times. Therefore, the Indonesian youth generation today must be aware of the changing times, technology, and market demands so as to allow a sustainable business growth,” explained Armand.
Deputy President Director of BCA Armand Wahyudi Hartono attended to share about “Succession Plan of Family Business in Digital Revolution” and his experience to the students on how technology can influence the development and growth of family business. For that reason, BCA always strives to keep pace with developments in technology that are aligned with the evolving needs of our customers. BCA offers various appropriate solutions through digital applications, Virtual Assistant Chat Banking (VIRA), Application Program Interface(API), e-Branch and many others.
“The key to a successful and sustainable family business in the midst of increasingly fierce competitions is to keep pace with these changes, because technology will always evolve.
