Jakarta, 6 March 2018 – PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) is committed to support the improvement of human resources quality. This time, BCA’s commitment is reflected through seminars for students and alumni of the Faculty of Economics and Business of Prof. Dr. Moestopo (Beragama) under the theme of “The Awakening of State Owned Enterprises in Supporting Optimism of Indonesian Economy”.
The seminar was opened by Independent Commissionaire of BCA Cyrillus Harinowo, who was also the keynote speaker, together with Director of Finance of PT Jasa Marga Tbk Donny Arsal and Vice President of Bank BNI Ryan Kiryanto. Also attending the event was Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Prof. Dr. Moestopo (Beragama) University Wibowo, Prof. Dr. Moestopo University Foundation Chairman of the Board Ignatius Kusnanto, Professor of FEB Prof. Dr. Moestopo (Beragama) University Widie Tjahjanto, and Vice Dean of FEB Academic Affairs of Prof. Dr. Moestopo (Beragama) University FX. Sugiyanto.
Under the topic of “State Owned Enterprise: A Story of Awakening”, Cyrillus Harinowo said that BCA has helped finance a total of approximately 43 SOEs to date. One of which is the disbursement of Rp1.5 trillion syndicated loan from BCA to PT Hutama Karya as State Owned Entereprises (SOE) in Indonesia assigned to develop the Bakauheni – Terbanggi Besar section of the Trans Sumatera project in December 2017.
“BCA’s contribution in the syndicatred loan is evidence of BCA’s commitment to achieve its corporate vision to become Indonesia’s leading bank of choice, with an essential role in becoming the main pillar of Indonesia’s economy. We hope the support BCA provides can contribute to the development of long-term infrastructure in Indonesia and support the improvement of the national economy,” said Cyrillus.
BCA also looks at the community’s need for safe and comfortable mass transportation. Therefore, in December 2017, BCA had disbursed a syndicated loan of Rp2.78 trillion for the construction of Jabodebek Light Rail Transit (LRT) to PT Kereta Api Indonesia to finance the infrastructure project which targeted to commence operation in the coming 2019.
Not only disbursing syndicated loan in transportation, BCA also provides support for Indonesia’s electricity sector through a syndicated loan facility financing in the amount of Rp2.5 trillion to PT. Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) last November 2017. “Through BCA’s participation, the syndicated loan disbursement is expected to boost development in Indonesia and propel long term national economic growth. This also suggests that our SOEs are very bankable and is becoming a growing business force. SOEs will become a major business force in Southeast Asia,” Cyrillus concluded.
