Yogyakarta, 15 October 2021 – The rapid digitalization trend during COVID-19 pandemic has become quite apparent with the presence of more new technology and innovations. Right now, all living generations have little choice but to live alongside the digital world. PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) also monitored this condition which is affected by the pandemic. As a private national bank, BCA wishes to work with others to survive and thrive together in this pandemic. This time, BCA supported the educative activity organized by the Vocational Collage of Universitas Gajah Mada (SV UGM).
This support was shown through “Vocatalk” event named “E-Compreneur: The Opportunity For Young Generation To Build Digital-Based Business” in synergy with Blibli and involved SV UGM. This event was attended by Gunawan Prayogo as the Head of Regional Office 2 BCA, Andreas Ardian Pramaditya as the Vice President of Galeri Indonesia Blibli, Dr-Ing. Ir. Agus Maryono as the Dean of SV UGM, Radhian Krisnaputra, S.T, M.Eng, M.Sc as Acting Deputy Dean of the Department of Cooperation, Alumni, and Strategic Planning of SV UGM, and Saiqa Ilham Akbar BS, S.E., M.Sc. as the Manager of Cooperation, Training, and Carrer Development Unit of SV UGM and the Lecturer of Business and Economy of SV UGM on Friday (15/10). This event also presented two successful entrepreneurs, namely Joshua Wijaya, the owner of Maximall Footwear, and Bintari Saptanti, the owner of Bakmi Sundoro.
“Synergy of BCA and Blibli is one of the good platforms for students to develop and grow in this digitalization era. We understand that this pandemic has slowed down the distribution of workforce and enterpreneurship. Through this event, the participants will be given useful knowledge to develop their potential in enterpreneurship, especially through digital platform. BCA as a banking organization will also facilitate this digitalization era with a range of comprehensive digital payment innovations,” Gunawan said.
During the event, the speakers talked about the business methods using digital platform, particularly e-commerce. Additionally, the digital payment method was also discussed to reveal that currently, more customers utilize digital platform for shopping. This increase the potential turnover if they used the e-commerce platform.
“We are pleased with the effort made by BCA and Blibli in providing the education for the SV UGM students. In this uncertain time, we believe that the students are still optimistic in pursuing their goals and are still passionate to find their dream job. Currently, entrepreneurship has also become an innovative and creative field of work which may become the answer for many people,” Agus Maryono said.
“We hope that this event will motivate the students to keep working hard in this uncertain time. Hopefully this program and its inspirative speakers provides the insight neeeded to create digital-based business and e-commerce that are in line with the current market demand,” Gunawan said.
