Palembang, 18 October 2019 - Committed to supporting the development of education in Indonesia, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) continues to improve the quality of Human Resources (HR) through the provision of scholarship funds to 18 State Universities in Indonesia with a total value of Rp 5.35 billion. Sriwijaya University is one of the universities receiving the Bakti BCA scholarship.
The BCA Bakti Scholarship worth Rp 250 million was symbolically handed over by the Head of the BCA Regional Office (Kakanwil) Daniel Hendarto to student representatives at Sriwijaya University, with a total of 38 scholarship recipients in Palembang, Friday (18/10). Vice Chancellor III of Sriwijaya University Moh. Zulkarnain participated in the ceremony.
Daniel said, one of the strengths of a nation is the human resources in it which are the driving force. Therefore, it is important to consistently hone student skills so that later they can become superior human resources. The provision of scholarship funds to outstanding students of Sriwijaya University is expected to motivate them to be able to compete globally.
The Bakti BCA Scholarship has been developed since 1999 and is intended for undergraduate students who excel but have financial constraints. It is hoped that the scholarships received by students, including Sriwijaya University students, can increase their motivation to study and help them complete their education.
In 2019, BCA provided scholarships worth Rp. 5.35 billion to 18 State Universities in Indonesia. The support provided is not only in the form of material support, but BCA also actively equips students with the soft skills needed when pursuing higher education and preparing for work.
The Bakti BCA Scholarship has entered its 20th year and continues to evaluate the funds provided and the number of recipients. Since 2019, BCA has increased the number of state universities receiving scholarships from 16 to 18 state universities. Meanwhile, the amount of funds allocated also increases every year. “Congratulations to 38 outstanding students at Sriwijaya University who have successfully gotten Bakti BCA scholarships. Hopefully this scholarship will be one of the encouragement for students to be more enthusiastic in pursuing education.
