Beware of Telemarketing Scam Impersonating BCA

REMEMBER THESE TIPS!!!

  • DO NOT SHARE YOUR PERSONAL DATA, SUCH AS OTP CODE, CVV, CARD NUMBERS, AND EXPIRATION DATE TO ANYONE THROUGH ANY CHANNEL OR MEDIA.
  • DO NOT GET TRICKED BY FRAUDSTERS! THE OTP CODE IS FOR ONLINE TRANSACTIONS, AND THAT IS NOT A “PROMO CODE”, “ANNUAL FEE WAIVER CODE”, OR WHATEVER THE FRAUDSTERS TELL YOU IT IS.

BCA indeed has Telemarketing agents who offer BCA credit card products. But, beware of fake BCA Telemarketing. These days, scammers claiming to be BCA Telemarketing are looming large, offering many attractive promos to get your personal and credit card data. One of which is a credit card annual waiver for life and promos to do transactions with BCA-affiliated merchants.

BCA Telemarketing never asks for your credit card secret data, such as card numbers, card expiration date, CVV, and OTP.

Meanwhile, scammers will ask you about your secret data (card numbers, card expiration date, CVV, and OTP) be it through a phone conversation or a link with a form that you must fill in.

Scammers manipulate their victims by camouflaging the OTP code as a “Promo Code” that can be used in BCA-affiliated merchants and ask you to share these codes to fake BCA Telemarketing. Meanwhile, CVV is camouflaged as a confidential “Customer Number” that can be shared for the purpose of the annual waiver/Promo BCA.

Therefore, we need to remember that BCA never sends a link in any form and never directly asks to share your confidential personal data (card numbers, card expiration date, CVV, and OTP).

If you find any suspicious person claiming to be a BCA Telemarketing and asking for your personal data, call Halo BCA at 1500888 (no area code).  Be careful of frauds and always protect the confidentiality of your personal data from anyone.

Share this information to your family and friends to better prepare them from facing the Telemarketing scam.
