What are Safe Deposit Box and Robotic Safe Deposit Box?
Safe Deposit Box (SDB) is a safe deposit box that BCA leases to customers for a fee for 1 year. Robotic Safe Deposit Box (RSDB) is an SDB that uses a mechanical operating system (robot) and is equipped with biometric security. Both services are intended to keep valuables safe from various risks.
Terms of Use of BCA SDB and RSDB
To use BCA’s SDB/RSDB services, certain conditions need to be considered. These provisions ensure that stored items remain safe and that the use of SDB is in accordance with applicable regulations. The following are the conditions for using SDB or RSDB at BCA:
- SDB is intended for storing valuable items or documents.
- It is not allowed to store items prohibited by law or items that can damage the SDB.
- Items or documents stored in the SDB are encouraged to be placed in water-resistant plastic.
- For RSDB, the maximum weight of goods stored is 20 kg.
- Accounts that can be used to pay SDB/RSDB rental fees are Tahapan, Tahapan Gold, Tapres, and Giro.
- SDB/RSDB rental cannot use a joint account.
- The facility to open a new SDB or RSDB is available only for Solitaire and Prioritas customers.
Renewal and Debiting Process for BCA SDB and RSDB Lease
The renewal of SDB or RSDB rent at BCA will be done automatically based on the rent due date recorded in the system as the reference. During the renewal, the rental fee and tax will be directly debited from the registered account. If the debit fails, the BCA branch will follow up in accordance with the applicable provisions regarding the failed debit of SDB or RSDB rental fees.
Closure of BCA SDB and RSDB Lease
To close the SDB or RSDB lease, customers are required to submit a request directly to the BCA branch. The closing process cannot be represented, therefore the customer who owns the SDB or RSDB must be present to apply in person. For closing an RSDB, the customer must also be present to apply for the closure.
It is important to minimize the risks to valuables by ensuring proper storage. The security of valuables can be better ensured by using SDB and RSDB services that have layered security. The automation in the renewal and debiting of rental fees makes these services more convenient to use.
