Celebrating National Education Day, Bakti BCA Again Holds “BCA Berbagi Ilmu” at BINUS University

Jakarta, 3 May 2024 - In the spirit of National Education Day, Bakti BCA once again implemented "BCA Berbagi Ilmu". This is one of the flagship programs of the Bakti Pendidikan pillar to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for Quality Education and to prepare a qualified and competitive young generation to face the peak of the Demographic Bonus in 2030.

“BCA Berbagi Ilmu” highlights three main activities, namely public lectures, student banking tours, and empowering people with disabilities. The “BCA Berbagi Ilmu” series opened with a public lecture at BINUS University Jakarta with BCA President Director Jahja Setiaatmadja on Friday (3/5).

During the opening public lecture at BINUS University, BCA President Director Jahja Setiaatmadja said, "Following our commitment in 2023, we are once again implementing the BCA Berbagi Ilmu program to equip young Indonesians with strategic knowledge, so that they are ready to navigate the global uncertainties that will challenge them in the future. We hope this knowledge will catalyze the development of quality human resources to support economic growth and the pursuit of Indonesia's Sustainable Development Goals."

BINUS @Kemanggisan Campus Director Dr. Reina, S.Kom., M.M. said that this public lecture is expected to establish a close relationship between the business world and the academic world. Therefore, this activity presents experts from various industries to share their experiences and knowledge with students. In the hope that students can prepare themselves better to enter the workplace and become professionals who are ready to compete in various world industries.

On the same occasion, Jahja Setiaatmadja presented the topic "Leveraging Technology to Survive In The VUCA World" to almost 850 students who attended, both offline and online. The topic was chosen given the rapid development of technology that provides added value and opportunities for businesses and people's lives, therefore the younger generation needs to be encouraged to utilize technology to the fullestin their self-development process

"Technology is indeed presented to facilitate the work of many sectors. However, it requires foresight and broad insight so that the technology can synergize with our expertise to produce a positive impact on the progress of the nation. For this reason, it is important for the younger generation to be able to read the direction of technological development, so that they can develop into individuals who can contribute to Indonesia's economic growth in the future," said Jahja Setiaatmadja.

In addition to Jahja Setiaatmadja, other BCA directors will also present various topics related to technology, the financial industry, and banking at several other universities, including Diponegoro University in Semarang, Bandung Institute of Technology in Bandung, Sriwijaya University in Palembang, and Udayana University in Bali. BCA hopes that this series of public lectures will help meet the needs of the younger generation for the latest knowledge and insights from the industry.

In 2023, the “BCA Berbagi Ilmu” public lecture series was held at 5 universities in Indonesia, and attended by more than 3,000 students. Meanwhile, the Student Banking Tour was enlivened by the presence of more than 900 students from 18 schools. In this activity, in addition to getting information about the world of banking, they will also get financial literacy insights. Finally, for people with disabilities, around 30 people were also empowered through skills provision, craft bazaars, and banking tours.

BCA Corporate Communications & Social Responsibility EVP Hera F. Haryn said, “BCA Berbagi Ilmu” under the Bakti BCA program is a way of supporting the younger generation to become excellent human resources and contribute to the Indonesian economy. Moreover, according to BPS, Indonesia is expected to enter a demographic bonus period with a peak period until 2030, indicated by the productive age population that reaches twice the number of children and elderly. We believe that the best investment for this young generation is education, therefore Bakti BCA is committed to continue facilitating them with various forms of support."

Under the "Bakti BCA" program, the Company is committed to continue providing benefits at the individual, community, and ecosystem scales. BCA believes that empowered individuals can empower their communities, and empowered communities can positively contribute to preserving the ecosystem, thus creating a cycle of mutual influence and interconnectedness.
