Presenting the Beauty of North Sulawesi, Kakaskasen Dua Tourism Village Nominated for Best Tourism Village in Indonesia

Tomohon, 8 August 2023 - Kakaskasen Dua Tourism Village has been selected as one of the 75 Best Tourism Village nominees in Indonesia according to the Anugerah Desa Wisata Indonesia (ADWI) 2023, by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenparekraf). Located in the city of Tomohon, North Sulawesi, this village offers a plethora of potentials, ranging from natural and man-made attractions to art, culture, and local culinary experiences.

Kakaskasen Dua Tourism Village is one of Bakti BCA's partner villages and was nominated as one of the Best Tourism Villages in ADWI 2023 after undergoing a rigorous selection process among 4,573 other tourism village participants. The ADWI 2023 Jury Council conducted a direct assessment of Kakaskasen Dua Tourism Village on August 7, 2023.

Minister of Tourism & Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia, Sandiaga Uno, also visited the location. Additionally, present during the visit were the Head of the North Sulawesi Provincial Tourism Office, Henry Kaitjily, the Head of OJK Sulutgomalut, Winter Marbun, the Mayor of Tomohon, Caroll Senduk, and the Head of BCA's Main Branch Office in Manado, Liau Jung Nyap.

"We are proud that one of Bakti BCA's partner tourism villages being nominated as one of the Best Tourism Villages in Indonesia according to ADWI 2023. We hope that this achievement will bring added value to the people of Tomohon, particularly the residents of Kakaskasen Dua Tourism Village. Specifically, we would like to express our appreciation to all village officials who have worked tirelessly to develop this village. We also extend our gratitude for the full support from the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenparekraf RI) and the local government. Overall, we consider the initiation of the ADWI program to be a positive breakthrough capable of creating a momentum for the revival of tourism and creative economy in Indonesia," expressed Liau Jung Nyap.

Kakaskasen Dua Tourism Village offers captivating natural wonders within its cool highland setting, nestled between two active mountains, Mount Mahawu and Mount Lokon. Adding to its allure, the village features the captivating Malimbukar Waterfall, further enriching the array of natural attractions. Moreover, Kakaskasen Dua Tourism Village boasts various other tourist spots that delight the eyes and minds of travelers, including Pelangi Park, Kasewean Lake, and Doa Mahawu Hill.

Kakaskasen Dua Tourism Village is also part of the success of the Tomohon International Flower Festival (TIFF), which has been held since 2008 and is supported by Kemenparekraf RI. The village serves as a "home" to numerous flower species used in the flower festival, making it a primary source of beauty in Kakaskasen Dua Tourism Village. Art and culture also serve as distinct attractions in Kakaskasen Dua Tourism Village. Visitors can enjoy artistic experiences such as the Kabasaran Dance performance, Kolintang music, and Maengket Dance.

After indulging in the natural beauty and arts and culture, visitors can also savor the region's distinctive culinary delights, such as Kue Gulung (rolled cake), Nasi Jaha (bamboo rice), Cucur (fried rice cake), Apang (traditional cake), Ayam Bulu, Pangi Bulu, and Bubur Manado (Manado-style porridge). Lastly, tourists can also bring home unique souvenirs from Kakaskasen Dua Tourism Village, including Batik Tomohon and bamboo crafts. This entire array of attractions can be enjoyed with a journey of 90 minutes from Sam Ratulangi Airport.

The Anugerah Desa Wisata Indonesia (ADWI) 2023 program is an annual competition organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenparekraf RI). Out of a total of 7,275 tourism villages in Indonesia, 4,573 villages have been selected to participate in the ADWI 2023 event. Currently, the ADWI 2023 activities have passed through various curation stages conducted by a panel of judges. The curation process began with the selection of the top 500 tourism villages, which were then narrowed down to the top 300, and finally culminated in the selection of the top 75 tourism villages.
