Jakarta, June 5th 2023 - The needs of a fish drying system for Kelompok Wanita Tani (fisherwomen group) in Bedetan Perancak, Jembrana, Bali has been fulfilled as the Solar Dryer Dome has been established. In line with the commitment to achieve sustainable development goals (SDGs), PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) participates in the development fish drying technology, including Solar Dryer Dome (SDD), fish cleaning area, and packaging space, to fulfill the production needs of KWT Bedetan Perancak.
Jembrana Regency offers a distinctive West Balinese signature menu known as "Bedetan," adding to the uniqueness of the region. The Bedetan dish was made out of Lemuru fish which was then deboned and flattened before being sun-dried. However, with unpredictable weather, the sun-drying method becomes ineffective.
In response to this situation, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) and PT Impack Pratama Industri Tbk (IPI) collaborates to establish Bedetan Production Area which featuring environmentally friendly fish drying facilities including the Solar Dryer Dome (SDD), fish cleaning area, and Bedetan product packaging area. The inauguration of the Bedetan Production Area was attended by Chairwoman of the Provincial PKK Movement Team in Bali Ni Putu Putri Suastini Koster, EVP Commercial & SME BCA Freddy Iman, Director of Sustain and New Product Development at PT Impack Pratama Industri Sugiarto, the Head of the PKK Movement Team in Jembrana Regency, Head of the Bali Provincial Marine and Fisheries Office Putu Sumardiana, Chair of the Trisakti Sustainability Center (TSC) SDG Center at Trisakti University Juniati Gunawan PhD, Head of the Kerthi Bali Research Center UPT I Putu Fery Karyada, and the Rector of Hindu State University Prof. Dr. drh. I Made Damriyasa, M.S.
The presence of the SDD, fish cleaning area, and Bedetan product packaging area are anticipated to assist fisherwomen members in enhancing the quality and standardization of their dried fish production. The relatively good preservation of nutrition, color, and taste is a direct result of drying the fish in the SDD.

This initiative is poised to benefit the dedicated members of Kelompok Wanita Tani, as they strive to elevate the quality and set new standards for the renowned Bedetan Jembrana signature menu," expressed Freddy Iman.
The collaboration between BCA-IPI is expected to fulfill Kelompok Wanita Tanis’s aspiration in enhancing the quality of Bedetan production, expanding market reach, and ultimately contributing to improving the welfare of the Jembrana community, particularly in Perancak Village.
"We earnestly anticipate that the development of the Solar Dryer Dome, fish cleaning area, and Bedetan product packaging area will greatly support the KWT members in significantly reducing drying time and elevating the quality of their production. Our sincere desire is that the KWT members will actively contribute to improving their family's economic situation," mentioned Sugiarto.
Furthermore, Freddy added that this initiative represents BCA's support for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), aligning with the government's guidance and backing. It is solely BCA's contribution to reigniting the Indonesian economy. Through these measures, BCA hopes that business activities can recover and the Indonesian economy can revive once again.
