Jakarta, 3 July 2021 – Education is one of the sectors that has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Not only for school students but also for students who have to take part in online learning. Understanding these conditions, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) as part of the national banking system does not stop providing added value to the community. Under the Bakti BCA program, in 2020 BCA held the Bakti BCA Scholarship program for the 2020/2021 academic year, which this year officially closed.
The Bakti BCA Scholarship is a program aimed at undergraduate (S1) students who excel but have financial problems. The 2020/2021 academic year was the first year it was held online due to the pandemic. As a form of appreciation, BCA presented a career webinar and closing ceremony which was attended by Independent Commissioner of BCA Sumantri Slamet, Vice President Director of BCA Armand Hartono, EVP of CSR BCA Inge Setiawati, CEO of Natadaya Consultancy Nuruly Achmad and Founder of the WARKOP Nusantara Network Setya Yudha Indraswara on Saturday (03/07). This activity was also attended by 790 recipients of the 2020/2021 Bakti BCA Scholarship.
Inge Setiawati expressed her appreciation for the recipients of the 2020/2021 Bakti BCA Scholarship who remained persistent in participating in the program even in the midst of a pandemic. "2020 to 2021 are special times because all participants have to deal with online learning methods to break the chain of the spread of COVID-19. However, this challenge did not become a barrier for all participants, because we saw the enthusiasm of the participants in participating in the learning and training held. Since the beginning of registration, BCA is optimistic that this program can continue to run smoothly in the midst of the pandemic, this is proven by the selection of 790 students for this program, "
The BCA Bakti Scholarship Program is part of the smart pillar solution in BCA's Corporate Social Responsibility. Every year, BCA is committed to creating a young generation that is highly competitive through this scholarship program. For the 2020/2021 academic year, it was recorded that the funds allocated for the BCA Bakti Scholarship activity were Rp. 5.45 billion and handed over to 18 state universities in Indonesia. This fund has also increased from 2019, as well as the number of students receiving scholarships has also increased.
Inge emphasized that in this scholarship program, students not only get funding for education but also get briefings that are useful for the world of work after graduation. During the scholarship program, participants are required to take part in self-development activities, such as leadership training, teamwork, social project activities, financial planning training, national insight training, and webinars to prepare for their future jobs. This training activity is also held by BCA in collaboration with partners who are competent in their fields. At this closing ceremony, BCA presented a career webinar “Competing the Future” with the aim of preparing participants to be ready for work and be committed to their career choices in the future.
The BCA Bakti Scholarship Program is one of BCA's efforts in accelerating the realization of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by supporting participants to obtain a quality education. For additional information, the smart pillar of Bakti BCA includes several flagship programs such as the Bakti BCA Scholarship, financial literacy education, educational partnerships, the Bakti BCA internship program, business and banking education programs, information technology education programs, and foster schools.

For the 2020/2021 academic year, it was recorded that the funds allocated for the BCA Bakti Scholarship activity amounted to Rp. 5.45 billion and handed over to 18 state universities in Indonesia and succeeded in gathering 790 students.
