BCA Invites People to Enjoy and Cook Indonesian Culinary from Home

Jakarta, 24 June 2021 – Indonesia, which consists of thousands of islands and ethnic groups, holds a lot of potential that can be preserved, one of which is the Indonesian culinary. Amid the continuous pandemic, you do not have to go outside because you still can enjoy these special cuisines from home. PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) as part of the community also understands this condition by inviting people to learn how to cook Indonesian cuisine through the LDR “Watch From Home” culinary talk show series.

BCA encourages people to give more appreciation towards the variety of Indonesian culinary through the virtual talk show, "Watch From Home" (LDR), which features Chef Martin Natadipraja as a guest and BCA CSR EVP Inge Setiawati. The LDR virtual talk show is broadcasted on Instagram @goodlifebca and SolusiBCA's Youtube channel at 19.00, Thursday (24/06).

“BCA has fostered tourism villages, each of which has its own tourism potential and also interesting culinary delights. Through this virtual activity, we want to invite the public to recognize and experience this culinary firsthand. Cooking at home is currently the preferred activity to do in the midst of this pandemic. In addition to adding insight into culinary, this will also help us to be able to consume healthy and clean food, "said Inge Setiawati.

Indonesian cuisines are so unique that they can make people want to return to an area to taste them again. On this special occasion, BCA also re-introduced Bakti BCA fostered tourist villages along with variations of their typical culinary menu. For example, the tourist village of Sijunjung in Padang has special food, namely Dendeng Batokok, which is smoked beef jerky. Through this activity, BCA also invites the audience to learn and cook for themselves at home, one of the typical West Java snack menus, namely cireng bumbu rujak, through a cooking demonstration.

On that occasion, Inge again explained BCA's criteria in selecting fostered villages carried out through various stages; registration, selection of the Bakti BCA internal team to the survey stage conducted by BCA. In the selection process, Bakti BCA also emphasizes several factors, such as the access to enter the village, the achievements of the village, and the local champions. This aims to support the training program that will be provided to selected villages. On the same occasion, Inge also opens up wide opportunities for other villages in Indonesia who want to be fostered and given training by BCA.

“For tourism village administrators, this culinary inspiration is an effort and a form of motivation that we present to be able to be creative with ingredients that are locally available. Through today's activity, it is hoped that it will increase awareness of local cuisine as well as Indonesian tourism, which has great potential. Going forward, it has become BCA's commitment to present inspiring and innovative programs like this,” Inge concluded.
