Jakarta, 7 April 2021 – Indonesia is yet again filled with grief while the country is still combating the ongoing global pandemic of coronavirus. On Sunday (04/04), flash flooding and landslides submerged the neighborhoods in East Flores Regency, devastating properties and claiming lives.
As part of the national economy systems, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA), through its Corporate Social Responsibility program, is compelled to distribute humanitarian aid. The donation was handed over by a BCA representative to the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) at Halim Perdana Kusuma Airport on Wednesday (07/04) to be forwarded to NTT.
“The entire family of BCA is deeply concerned and extends its deepest condolences to those affected in the flash floods and landslides that hit East Nusa Tenggara (NTT). As fellow countrymen, it is our duty to help each other. We hope that the aid can help ease the burden of those affected,” said Inge Setiawati, Executive Vice President CSR BCA.
To date, BCA has distributed a donation of 20 (twenty) units of generator sets, 200 (two hundred) staple food packages, and 20 (twenty) units of tents that will be channeled to several affected areas. For your information, the aid was channeled to towns and villages including Kupang, Waiara Village, Geliting Village, Wairkoja Village, Lambata District, Adonara Island, and several Provincial Disaster Management Centers.
“The humanitarian aid provided by BCA is expected to alleviate the suffering of those affected by the disaster. Together we pray for a swift and smooth recovery and hopefully, the missing bodies can be retrieved soon. We pray also for all volunteers involved in emergency response to be given courage and strength to continue to serve,” concluded Inge.
