BCA Distributes PPE to Unair Hospital Surabaya

Surabaya, 3 July 2020 - Since the first coronavirus infection was confirmed in Indonesia, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) has consistently and unifiedly distributed aid for the handling and recovery of Covid-19 to a number of institutions, hospitals, and communities in need. Continuing the commitment, this time, BCA distributed personal protective equipment (PPE) worth more than Rp85 million to Universitas Airlangga Hospital (RS UNAIR) Surabaya.

Head of BCA Regional Office III Frengky Chandra Kusuma accompanied by Head of Operations Support for Regional Office III Lindawati Susanto handed over PPE consisted of 400 N95 masks, 245 coveralls, and 150 scrubs to the Head of Public Relations of RS UNAIR dr. Nily Sulistyorini, SpF at BCA Regional Office III, Friday (03/07). The ceremony was also supported by Indah Kurniati as the initiator of BCA donation to RS UNAIR.

“BCA’s commitment has remained the same, which is to support the government in overcoming the Covid-19 pandemic currently spreading in several regions in Indonesia, including in Surabaya. This time, BCA handed over PPE to Unair Hospital. Hopefully it will be helpful for the medical workers as frontline workers in the fight against Covid-19. Previously, BCA had also handed over aid worth more than Rp200 million to affected communities in the area around BCA Regional Office III,” explained Frengky.

Since last March, BCA has distributed aid to a number of regions in Indonesia in the form PPE and ventilators for medical workers and patients, and staple food packages and hygiene kits for people financially affected by Covid-19. BCA also collaborates with various parties such as Benihbaik.com, the Association of Indonesian Hospitals (PERSI), and the government in distributing the donation to those in need. To date, BCA has donated almost Rp18 billion for Covid-19 mitigation measures in Indonesia.

“We hope that the assistance we provide today can contribute to tackling the Covid-19 pandemic in Surabaya and its neighboring cities. We hope that the pandemic will end soon, and life can return to normal. Of course, BCA is also committed to supporting the government to welcome the new normal, which hopefully will take place in near future,” Frengky concluded.
