Consistently Supporting the Growth of MSMEs, BCA Contribute to The Success of Bangga Buatan Indonesia (Proud with Indonesian Products) National Movement 2021

Jakarta, 11 January 2021 – BCA is committed to promoting national economic recovery through relentless support for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). As a form of this consistent support, BCA contributes to the implementation of a government program entitled Proud of Indonesian Products National Movement (Gernas BBI) 2021.

The launching ceremony for Gernas BBI was carried out in a hybrid manner from Ngurah Rai Airport, Denpasar, Bali. President Director of BCA Jahja Setiaatmadja, Head of BCA Regional Office IV Makassar Hendrik Sia, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi and Governor of Bank Indonesia Perry Warjiyo attended virtually. Meanwhile, Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs Teten Masduki, Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection I Gusti Ayu Bintang Darmawati, Deputy Governor of Bali Prof. Tjokorda Oka Sukawati and Secretary General of the Ministry of Transportation Djoko Sasono attended the event in person while adhering to health protocols on Monday (11/1).

“BCA is proud to be part of Gernas BBI 2021. This national movement is in line with our commitment to increasing national economic growth, particularly through the MSME sector. This collaboration of shared goals and movements will further strengthen BCA in encouraging people to love, develop, and increase the added value of local products and be proud of those made in Indonesia," said Jahja.

BCA contributed to the success of the Gernas BBI series of activities by assisting the marketing program of Bangga Buatan Indonesia products through e-commerce sites by providing discounted prices. In addition, BCA provides promotional facilities for MSMEs at BCA branch offices in Bali. To close the series of activities in Bali, BCA held a webinar that featured speakers from BCA and Servasius Bambang Pranoto as the owner of Kutus-Kutus Oil, as one of the Premium MSME actors who passed curation.

In line with Gernas BBI, BCA has developed the #BanggaLokal program at the end of 2020. The #BanggaLokal program has brought together hundreds of merchants consisting of health & beauty, fashion, food & beverage, as well as hobbies & activities merchants. In addition, because they have the same goal, in 2021 there will be a #BanggaLokal, #BanggaBuatanIndonesia program.

Concretely, BCA provides assistance to MSMEs by helping to curate MSME products so that they can be promoted through promotional and communication programs, so as to increase awareness and sales; assisting the process of preparing MSMEs for onboarding in e-commerce and digital-based sales platforms that make it easier for consumers to access MSME products; as well as assisting the business development process through credit facilities for those who qualify and provide electronic payment infrastructure (QRIS and EDC).

As of November 2020, BCA recorded a total outstanding distribution of BCA MSMEs of IDR77 trillion to 135,000 debtors with an average growth for the last 3 years of 15% above the average growth of banking MSME loans of 9%.

"The presence of Gernas BBI 2021 can be a good start at the beginning of this year to raise the spirit of the Indonesian people in building MSME businesses. This movement should be supported by all parties, especially during this pandemic. Hopefully, Gernas BBI 2021 can be a medium for the revival of Indonesian local products," concluded Jahja.
