Commemorating Mother’s Day, BCA Holds “Women’s Role in Developing Villages”

Jakarta, 21 December 2020 – PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) consistently presents webinars to support women’s role in the development of tourism villages. This time, in commemoration of Mother’s Day that falls on 22 December, BCA organizes a webinar called “Women’s Role in Developing Villages”, which will be followed by a cooking demo of Indonesian cuisine.

The webinar, which is part of BCA’s CSR program, was opened by Executive Vice President CSR BCA Inge Setiawati on Monday (21/12). Also attending the event was Executive Chef of Hotel Santika Premiere Beach Resort Belitung, Chef Amirudin Suryana, who share Indonesian food recipes. The webinar was followed by 12 enthused women from 12 Bakti BCA’s assisted tourism villages.

“In terms of the growth of tourism villages, the role of women, especially mothers, through creativity is a positive value added. It is BCA’s responsibility through the pillar of Excellent Business Solution to motivate and assist the administrators of tourism villages in the midst of recovery. The webinar and cooking today highlight issues and subjects that are relevant for women in developing their business skills that tourism requires,” explained Inge.

The Excellent Business Solution program is part of BCA’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) platform that aims to foster MSMEs, communities and rural villages that have tourism and cultural education potential. Through the Bakti BCA program, BCA has developed 12 assisted villages spread across Sumatra, Java, and Bali. For your information, BCA had previously organized a webinar called “Women’s Role in Developing Tourism Villages”.

The cooking demonstration is the main attraction of the event as it provides some inspiration for Indonesian recipes that homestays in tourism villages can use. Signature dishes of a tourism village is a great incentive for visitors who come to learn about the local culture.

“Creating a first-class tourism village is the goal of the village administrators. But, of course, this requires participation of all parties to make it happen. BCA consistently gives support to all administrators and homestay owners by conducting various monitoring efforts and providing trainings through digital innovation. We hope that these inspirational activities can foster women’s enthusiasm in BCA’s assisted tourism villages,” Inge concluded.
