BCA Held A Webinar for Tourism Villages in Indonesia to Commemorate World Tourism Day.

Jakarta, 8 October 2020 - The commitment and consistency of PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) to contribute in providing added value for customers and the people of Indonesia continues to be realized. BCA, through the Excellent Business Solutions pillar, continues to provide assistance and guidance to 12 BCA Fostered Tourism Villages spread across Sumatra, Java and Bali, despite the COVID-19 pandemic. The focus was only on the 12 BCA Fostered Tourism Villages, but now Bakti BCA held webinars for other tourist villages spread across various regions in Indonesia.

In commemoration of World Tourism Day, Bakti BCA together with the Desa Wisata Institute held a webinar entitled "Generating Tourism Villages in the New Era" for tourism village administrators in various regions of Indonesia. BCA CSR Executive Vice President Inge Setiawati accompanied by CSR Vice President Ira Bachtar was present to open the webinar on Thursday (8/10).

This webinar, which was open to the general public, presented two speakers; the Commissioner of BCA Dr. Cyrillus Harinowo and Expert Staff for Sustainable Development & Conservation of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy Dr. Frans Teguh, M.A. In this webinar, tourism village administrators were also given the opportunity to share their experiences of managing tourist villages during the COVID-19 pandemic, including those from Pentingsari Village, Doto Yogantoro and Bukit Peramun, Adie Darmawan.

“Tourism in Indonesia is one sector that contributes to society and the country's economy. However, it is undeniable that the COVID-19 pandemic has also affected this sector. Facing a fairly dynamic situation as it is today, of course, special tips are needed so that tourism village administrators remain creative and innovative in maintaining the sustainability of their tourist villages. For this reason, BCA and the Desa Wisata Institute held a webinar aimed at tourism village administrators in various regions of Indonesia," explained Inge.

The COVID-19 pandemic is shaping a new history for the Indonesian tourism sector. This situation indirectly encourages the management of the tourist village to be more alert and careful in taking advantage of opportunities in order to maintain the sustainability of the tourist village. Provision of knowledge and motivation are important things to be given so that they are able to adapt in the midst of dynamic situations.

“Tourism Day in the midst of this year's COVID-19 pandemic is a reminder for us to always move forward to face the challenges that exist. It is important to continue to increase the capacity of tourism village administrators. Through this webinar, we hope to facilitate tourism village administrators in various parts of Indonesia in gaining new knowledge and experiences. An innovation and creativity must continue to be carried out in line with the times and dynamic needs,” Inge concluded.
