Jakarta, 22 June 2020 – In accordance with Bank Indonesia Regulation, starting from July 1, all credit card transactions will require PIN numbers as a form of authentication. As part of the national financial system, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) certainly backs the policy as an effort to provide security and convenience in financial transactions using credit cards.
“For some time, BCA has been actively informing its credit card holders throughout the country to activate their personal identification number (PIN) before July 1st, 2020. We have massively put forward the information through various channels, including BCA’s website, email, social media, and other channels,” explained Executive Vice President of Transaction Banking Business Development of BCA I Ketut Alam Wangsawijaya.
For additional information, as of May 2020, it was noted that 84% had already activated PIN-based transaction on a credit card. “For BCA credit card holders who have yet to activate their PIN, we urge you to do it before July 1, 2020,” said I Ketut.
In general, there are three ways to generate a credit card PIN, namely via BCA mobile, BCA’s website www.bca.co.id/creditcard, and ATM BCA. For full information, customers can obtain the information at www.bca.co.id/edukatips/pin and https://youtu.be/W3BuNol-ylk.
For PIN activation via BCA mobile, select mAdmin, select credit card activation, and then select create/change PIN, and click on “create PIN”. Then, select which credit card you wish to create a PIN for, and type your PIN. Your PIN is now active.
In addition, customers can also generate a credit card PIN via www.bca.co.id/creditcard by filling out the Data Verification form at https://eform.klikbca.com/fasilitasonlinecc/. After selecting “Submit”, click “PIN activation”, select the card to be activated, enter a six-digit “authentication code” sent via SMS, click “Submit”, type in a 6-digit PIN, click “Submit” and a notification will be sent via SMS.
Besides BCA mobile and BCA’s website, customers can also generate a credit card PIN at BCA ATMs, by entering authentication code sent via SMS once the credit card is activated. Insert your credit card, select “PIN activation”, enter the 6-digit “authentication code” that is sent via SMS*, click “Correct”. If valid, click “Proceed” and type in a 6-digit PIN of your choice (2 times). The bank will send you a message that your PIN has been generated.
“We urge all BCA credit card holders all across the country to activate a credit card PIN immediately as credit card signature transactions will be declined. While there is still time, activate your PIN now and get yourself used to using PIN for credit card transactions from now before the mandatory PIN verification is put in place,” I Ketut concluded.
