Terms and Conditions BCA AMEX NAC Travel

  • International and or Domestic Single Trip: Maximum length of each trip shall not exceed 30 days.
  • To be eligible for cover under this Policy:
    1. Cardholder has to charge airfare for Domestic Journey or Overseas Journey to BCA Amex Card;
    2. Spouse and/or Child(ren) will be covered under this Policy if their airfare is charged to an eligible Card of the Cardholder;
      Cardholder and Spouse must be an Indonesian, Indonesian permanent resident, or holder of a valid (issued by the authorities in Indonesia) work permit, temporary or permanent stay permit, long-term social visit pass, or student pass, and be at least eighteen (18) years of age up to eighty (80) years of age of Effective Date.
    3. the Child(ren), must be:
      1. an Indonesian, Indonesian Permanent Resident, or holder of a valid (issued by the authorities in Indonesia) temporary or permanent stay permit or student pass;
      2. at least fourteen (14) days of age and not more than eighteen (18) years old (or twenty-three (23) years old if studying full-time in a recognized tertiary institution) on the Effective Date;
      3. unmarried; and
      4. unemployed

Benefits

Section 1 – Accidental Death and Disablement

Section 1a - Accidental Death and Disablement (during a Journey)

 

What Is Covered

If, during the Period of Insurance, whilst the Insured Person is on a Journey, the Insured Person sustains Bodily Injury which results in Death or Permanent Disablement within one hundred and eighty (180) days from the date of the Accident.

What We Will Pay

We will pay to the Insured Person’s nominee or to the person We are required to pay to under the law if there is no such nominee, the compensation according to the scale stated in the Table of Benefits below and up to a maximum relevant Benefit amount specified in the Benefit Schedule, subject to the terms and conditions of this Policy.

 

Section 2 – Medical Expenses

(applicable to Overseas Journey only)

What Is Covered

If, during the Period of Insurance, whilst the Insured Person is on an Overseas Journey, the Insured Person incurs Medical Expenses Overseas as a direct result of Bodily Injury or Sickness or Dental Expenses as a direct result of Accidental Injury.

What We Will Pay

We will reimburse the Insured Person in respect of such Medical Expenses charged to BCA Amex Card up to a maximum of the relevant Benefit amount specified in the Benefit Schedule.

  1. For Medical Expenses: only the medical, hospital, surgical treatment necessarily incurred as a direct result of Bodily Injury or Sickness contracted by the Insured Person during the Period of Insurance. The treatment must be given by a Physician.
  2. For Dental Expenses: only the emergency dental treatment as a direct result of Bodily Injury to sound natural teeth occurring during the Period of Insurance. The treatment must be given by a Dentist. This is applicable only when the Insured Person is Overseas.

 

Section 3 – Flight Delay

What Is Covered

If, during the Period of Insurance, whilst the Insured Person is on a Journey, the departure of the airplane in which the Insured Person had arranged to flight is delayed for at least four (4) consecutive hours or the flight is cancelled or the Insured Person is denied boarding on an airplane which the Insured Person is booked on due to over-booking and no alternative Common Carrier is made available.

Delaying or cancellation of such flight, from the time specified in the itinerary supplied to the Insured Person, due to:

  1. Strike or industrial action;
  2. Adverse Weather Conditions;
  3. mechanical breakdown/derangement of the Common Carrier;
  4. grounding of the Common Carrier as a result of mechanical or structural defect;
  5. Natural Disasters;
  6. any event leading to airspace restrictions or airport closure.

 

What We Will Pay

We will indemnify the Insured Person the reasonable expenses incurred in respect of meals or refreshments and hotel accommodation charged to BCA Amex Card up to a maximum of the relevant Benefit amount specified in the Benefit Schedule.

 

Section 4 – Flight Misconnection

What Is Covered

If, during the Period of Insurance, whilst the Insured Person are on a Journey, the Insured Person’s confirmed onward flight connection is missed at the transfer point due to the late arrival of the Insured Person’s incoming confirmed scheduled airplane and no onward transportation is available to the Insured Person within four (4) consecutive hours of the Insured Person’s actual arrival time.

 

What We Will Pay

We will indemnify the Insured Person the reasonable expenses incurred in respect of meals or refreshments and hotel accommodation charged to  BCA Amex Card up to a maximum of the relevant Benefit amount specified in the Benefit Schedule.

 

Section 5 – Baggage Delay

What Is Covered

If, during the Period of Insurance, whilst the Insured Person is on a Journey, the Insured Person’s checked-in baggage is delayed by an airplane operator and is not delivered to the Insured Person within six (6) hours of the Insured Person’s arrival at the scheduled Destination Overseas or within Indonesia (for Domestic Journey).

 

What We Will Pay

We will indemnify the Insured Person for the expenses necessarily and reasonably incurred for the purchases of essential clothing, toiletries and requisites charged to BCA Amex Card up to a maximum of the relevant Benefit amount specified in the Benefit Schedule.

 

Section 6 – Baggage Loss

What Is Covered

If, during the Period of Insurance, whilst the Insured Person is on a Journey, the Insured Person’s checked-in baggage on the schedule flight is not delivered to the Insured Person within twenty-four (24) hours of the Insured Person’s arrival at the scheduled Destination point of the Insured Person’s flight.

 

What We Will Pay

We will indemnify the Insured Person for the expenses necessarily and reasonably incurred for the purchases of essential clothing, toiletries and requisites charged to BCA Amex Card within ninety-six (96) hours after arrival at such scheduled Destination up to a maximum of the relevant Benefit amount specified in the Benefit Schedule.

 

Section 7 - Purchase Protection

What Is Covered

This benefit will indemnify the BCA Amex Cardholder for any Personal Property purchased worldwide during the Period of Insurance, if such Personal Property is accidentally lost or damaged within:

  1. For Domestic purchase: 30 days from the date of purchase
  2. For Oversesas purchase: 45 days from the date of purchase for items purchased, 

provided the cost of the purchase is charged to BCA Amex Card. 

An excess of 25% of the loss subject to a minimum of IDR 500,000.- is applied in respect of any accidental loss or damage from the total loss payable to the Cardholder.

 

Section 8 – Terrorism Extension

What Is Covered

If, during the Period of Insurance and in the event of a claim under any Benefit covered of this Part 7 - Benefits arising from any Act of Terrorism, the Policy is extended to cover You whilst You are on a Journey.

 

What We Will Pay

We will reimburse You up to the maximum relevant Benefit amount specified in the Benefit Schedule for each Benefit of the Part 7-Benefits, subject to the terms and conditions of this Policy.

 

General Exclusion

The following exclusions are a summary of the policy’s General Exclusions. Therefore, we recommend reading the policy’s General Exclusions. This Policy does not cover, and We will not in any event be liable to pay any claims arising directly or indirectly from, caused by, a consequence of, arising in connection with or contributed to by any of the following:

  1. Any Pre-existing Conditions or congenital conditions;
  2. Any condition, which is or results from or is a complication of infection with Human Deficiency Syndrome (‘HIV’), any variance including Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (‘AIDS’), and AIDS Related Complications (‘ARC’), or any opportunistic infections and/or malignant neoplasm (tumor) found in the presence of HIV, AIDS or ARC;
  3. Any condition which is, results from or a complication of pregnancy, childbirth, miscarriage (except miscarriage due to Bodily Injury as direct result of an Accident as covered under Section 3 of Part 7 for Medical Expenses) or abortion;
  4. Any condition which is, results from or a complication of suicide or attempted suicide or intentional self-injury;
  5. Any willful or intentional acts of Yours whether sane or insane, self-inflicted injury, suicide pacts or agreements or any attempts thereat, provoked homicide or assault;
  6. Any loss or expenses which is, directly or indirectly, caused by, a consequence of, arises in connection with or is contributed to by You undertaking any Journey against the advice of a Physician or for the purpose of seeking medical attention;
  7. Any prohibition or breach of government regulation or any failure by You to take reasonable precautions to avoid a claim under this Policy following the warning of any intended Strike, Riot or Civil Commotion through or by general mass media;
  8. Any Nuclear, Chemical, Biological Terrorism;
  9. Any known event/foreseen circumstance, which means Riot, Strike, Civil Commotion or Natural Disaster that were publicized or reported by the media or through travel advice issued by a national or international body or agency before the Policy was taken up or before the trip was booked (in the case of an annual plan);

How to submit your claim

  • You need to submit your claim within 30 days of the event giving rise to your claim. Submission can be proceeding through online and offline.
  • You can download a copy of our Chubb Travel Insurance claim form at www.chubbtravelinsurance.co.id/en/claim
  • Complete all relevant sections & questions of the claim form that relate to your claim in full. Missing out details will usually result in us needing to contact you for clarification and delay the assessment of your claim.
  • Ensure that you collate and attach to your claim form all the required supporting documents that relate to your claim. Failing to provide the required supporting documentation will usually result in us needing to contact you for clarification and delay the assessment of your claim.
  • For prompt assessment of your claim submit your claim form and supporting documentation by emailing to travel.id@chubb.com. Alternatively, you can submit your claim via post.
