Jakarta, 31 July 2026 – PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) continues to strengthen its commitment to supporting the competitiveness of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) by hosting the Halal Certification Workshop and Business Training 2026. The event, held at the multipurpose room of PT Kawasan Berikat Nusantara (PT KBN) Cakung on Thursday (30/7), reached 100 SME participants from the food and beverage sector.
The opening ceremony of the SME Halal Certification Workshop and Business Training 2026 was attended by Representative of One-Stop Integrated Services (Pelayanan Terpadu Satu Pintu) of Semper Timur Sub-district Mochamad Ardiansyah, Manager of Employee Service Cooperative (Koperasi Jasa Karyawan) of PT Kawasan Berikat Nusantara Toha Muzaqi, as well as Head of KCU BCA Tanjung Priok Indrawanto Sahama.
"Halal certification is not merely an administrative requirement or a constitutional mandate, but has evolved into a market need and a key indicator of consumer trust in the SME sector and modern trade. Considering that SMEs contribute 61% to the national GDP and absorb 97% of the workforce, strengthening the competitiveness of this sector is extremely crucial. BCA is committed to being present alongside SME owners to obtain halal certificates as well as gain access to various other sustainable development programs," said Indrawanto Sahama.
The program, which is part of the Bakti BCA sustainability pillar, does not only focus on halal certification, but provides end-to-end mentoring. Business owners are equipped with capacity building based on three pillars, namely entrepreneurs, market, and product, as well as the Business Model Canvas. In addition, BCA also equips participants with online account opening facilities, QRIS payment method activation through the Merchant BCA application, and access to People's Business Credit (Kredit Usaha Rakyat/KUR) financing.
EVP Corporate Communication and Social Responsibility BCA Hera F. Haryn said that the Halal Certification and SME Business Training program is aligned with BCA's commitment to assisting SMEs to transform from unbankable to bankable and gradually level up.
"BCA's commitment to driving SME progress is consistently manifested through continuous real actions. Since 2023, this program has facilitated a total of around 5,000 halal certificates across approximately 40 provinces. This regional coverage is real proof of BCA's consistency in ensuring that the benefits of halal certification can be felt evenly by business owners across various parts of Indonesia," said Hera.
BCA's support for the SME ecosystem is also realized through cross-work unit collaboration. As of June 2026, BCA recorded loan growth in the SME segment of 6% YoY, disbursing financing worth Rp18.5 trillion to more than 39 thousand female entrepreneurs.
In addition, as many as 1,829 SMEs have participated in business training programs supported by 43 learning modules and 52 training hours, as well as mentoring programs such as export training, financial literacy, and business digitalization to help local products reach wider markets.
"We hope this program can answer the needs of SME owners, while supporting government steps regarding the first phase of mandatory halal certification effective this coming October. Through this mentoring, more business owners will be able to meet industry standards, build consumer trust, and strengthen the competitiveness of their products. Going forward, BCA will continue to present empowerment programs that deliver real impact on SME growth and an inclusive national economy," Hera explained.
