"BCA believes that education is a fundamental pillar in driving national progress. Through the Sekolah Bakti BCA Program, we focus on enhancing teacher capacity, improving school governance, and introducing innovative teaching and learning methods. These innovations are expected to serve as a catalyst for positive change in the education community, benefiting not only the mentored schools but also other schools in Banyuwangi," said BCA EVP Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility Hera F. Haryn.
From September 2024 to January 2025, BCA has provided mentorship to Sekolah Bakti BCA in two stages. The first stage involved innovation workshops and coaching sessions, while the second stage focused on the preparation and implementation of Gelar Karya. During this event, teachers showcased the outcomes of the innovative learning processes they had developed throughout the mentoring program. This initiative is expected to serve as a platform for teachers from the five Sekolah Bakti BCA to share best practices and inspire fellow educators in Banyuwangi.
In addition to Gelar Karya, BCA organized Appreciation Day to recognize the mentored schools for their commitment and achievements in implementing the program. BCA subsequently handed over the five schools to the Banyuwangi Education Office, with the hope that the best practices introduced will continue to thrive and positively impact the broader educational community.
Previously, Sekolah Bakti BCA in Lampung, Serang, and Gunung Kidul had already been transferred to their respective local education offices. As of 2024, 17 Sekolah Bakti BCA have achieved report card scores above the national average. BCA has also expanded its mentorship to four new Sekolah Bakti BCA, along with eight sister schools at the elementary and high school levels in Bengkulu, East Kalimantan, East Nusa Tenggara, and Southwest Papua.
The Bakti BCA School Program is one of the company’s key educational initiatives. Beyond enhancing the quality of educational institutions, BCA, under the Bakti BCA umbrella, has consistently provided scholarships and training for outstanding students across Indonesia since 1999. To date, more than 7,500 undergraduate students have received support through the Bakti BCA Scholarship.
BCA EVP Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility Hera F. Haryn expressed hope that the Sekolah Bakti BCA in Banyuwangi will continue fostering a spirit of innovation and excellence. “We believe these schools will serve as role models within their educational communities and make a tangible contribution to advancing education in Banyuwangi. This success demonstrates that concrete efforts in education can drive sustainable change. Let us join forces to support better education for future generations,” Hera concluded.
