Jakarta, 30 November 2024 - As part of its ongoing commitment to make a real impact on society, BCA once again organized a blood donation event involving BCA employees. Held over two days, from 28-29 November 2024, this activity successfully collected 360 blood bags and marked the end of BCA's series of blood donation activities this year. Throughout 2024, BCA has collected more than 2,100 blood bags, all of which were donated to the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) for various needs.
BCA Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility EVP Hera F. Haryn said, “Blood donation has become an annual tradition at BCA. We recognize the many positive values that this activity provides, not only for the recipients, but also the donors. On the other hand, we see blood donation activities as a perfect embodiment of our corporate value, which is working to give value. We are happy that this year the number of blood bags that can be donated has increased, and hope that every drop of blood donated will truly benefit whoever receives it.”
Throughout 2024, BCA organized 21 blood donation events. These activities were not only held at BCA's head office in Jakarta, but also at several BCA regional and branch offices spread across various regions, such as Medan, Samarinda, Yogyakarta, Bandar Lampung, Solo, Makassar, Probolinggo, and Mataram. This initiative marks the 117th collaboration between BCA and the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) since 1990. From 2016 to November 2024, BCA has collected more than 14,000 blood bags for donation. In addition to blood donation, BCA also contributes to other areas of health through free medical check-up programs including screening for hypertension, diabetes, high blood pressure, gout, and cataract surgery.
For its consistent contributions to the healthcare sector through blood donation initiatives, BCA was awarded by PMI as one of the 10 institutions that actively conduct blood donation activities for the period 2023-2024. In addition, in 2017 BCA also earned a MURI record as the first national private bank to achieve the 100th blood donation event.
“Recognizing that every drop of blood donated means so much to those in need, we at BCA are committed to sharing with the community through blood donation activities. With our strong and long-standing integration with PMI, we hope this social program can reach more locations and help more lives across Indonesia,” said Hera.
