Classy! Silver Artisan from Desa Bakti BCA Participates in the Production of TULOLA’s Latest Jewelry Collection

Bali, 31 October 2024 - PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) has once again established a strategic partnership with local jewelry brand TULOLA. In this collaboration, BCA partnered with a jewelry artisan from Taro Village, Bali, to produce TULOLA’s latest collection. The artisan in question is I Made Suama, a silver artist from Taro Tourism Village, a Bakti BCA-assisted village (Desa Bakti BCA). He is involved in the production of three new pieces of jewelry in TULOLA’s “The Dancer” collection, launched on Wednesday (30/10).

BCA Corporate Communication & Social Responsibility EVP Hera F. Haryn explained, “BCA is thrilled to once again collaborate with TULOLA, a local brand dedicated not only to enhancing the elegance of Indonesian women but also to honoring the rich cultural heritage of Nusantara. We take great pride in seeing the skilled artisans of Taro Tourism Village recognized and trusted by an innovative jewelry brand like TULOLA. This partnership exemplifies the vital synergy needed between local artisans and brands to drive the growth of Indonesia’s creative economy.”

Taro Tourism Village is known as one of the centers for producing high-quality silver handicrafts. Silver carving has been an important part of the village’s tradition for centuries. In TULOLA’s “The Dancer” collection, I Made Suama is trusted to contribute his ideas and creativity in designing fan brooches, carved brooches and floral subeng (earrings). All these designs are inspired by the richness and indigenous culture of Taro Village.

Bros Kipas is inspired by the Nar-Nir dance, which tells the story of teenage relationships and each dancer carries a fan. The inspiration from the dance is combined with Balinese carvings that adorn many temples in Taro Village. Bros Ukiran is inspired by the diversity of plants in Taro Village, especially the vines that grow in forests, rivers and valleys. Anting Bunga are works inspired by the abundance of flowers in Taro village. The existence of various flowers in Taro Village is very important because they are often used by dancers in performances.

“BCA’s commitment to boosting local economic growth through Desa Bakti BCA is comprehensive, encompassing coaching, development, and market expansion. The collaboration between BCA, TULOLA, and artisans from Taro Tourism Village exemplifies #BuktiBaktiBCA in action, generating a multiplier effect that fuels creative economic growth, preserves culture, and empowers communities. We hope that in the future, more local brands will be inspired to empower local artists and artisans, encouraging innovation and sustainable growth,” said Hera.

BCA’s commitment to expanding market opportunities for MSMEs and businesses in Desa Bakti BCA is evident through the participation of 32 BCA-assisted merchants at Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) 2024. During the event, dozens of these MSMEs engaged in business matching with over 160 international buyers—a remarkable 10-fold increase from last year. Additionally, BCA continues to support the issuance of halal certifications, aiming to assist 2,000 MSMEs by the end of 2024. BCA also facilitated the participation of five assisted villages to showcase their tourism potential and regional treasures at the Bali Beyond Travel Fair and Wonderful Indonesia Travel Fair 2024.

BCA offers seamless transactions and exclusive promotions for TULOLA customers, especially on the launch day of “The Dancer” collection. Details of the promotions include:

  • 5% discount on new products and 15% discount on other products for offline purchases on the launch day of “The Dancer” in Bali (October 30) and Jakarta (November 28-29).
  • An additional 5% discount for TULOLA purchases made with BCA credit and debit cards.
  • 0% installment plans available for purchases made using BCA credit cards.

Taro Village is recognized as one of the World's Best Tourism Villages, with the tagline "An Eco-Spiritual Destination." This village offers a travel experience that combines natural beauty, cultural richness, and deep spirituality. Taro Tourism Village boasts a rich cultural heritage, including the Great Temple of Mount Raung, the stunning views of Semara Ratih Delodsema Village that blend seamlessly with the layout of traditional houses, and it is also home to a white cattle conservation program. Taro Tourism Village was awarded the Best Tourism Villages Upgrade Program by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) in 2023.
