Promoting MSME Growth, BCA Organizes ‘One Opportunity One Million Happiness’

Surabaya, 17 July 2018 – Committed to become the leading bank of choice, with an essential role in becoming the main pillar of Indonesia’s economy, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) continues to support the development of MSME segment as one of the main drivers in Indonesia’s economy. This time, BCA’s efforts is realized through the Bakti BCA program’s ‘One Opportunity One Million Happiness’ MSME Workshop, lasted for two days, 17-18 July 2018 and was attended by 150 MSME actors in Surabaya.

Attending to open the workshop was Head of BCA KCU Diponegoro Chen Lin Andrew, Vice President of CSR of BCA Ira Bachtar, Head of Business Development of BCA KCU Diponegoro Soesilo and OS of MSME & SME Special Project Regional Office 3 Andrias Harianto. Under the theme of ‘One Opportunity One Million Happiness’, the seminar invited BCA’s Economist BCA David E Sumual, Merchant SME Acquisition Blibli.com Angger Alfi, Merchant Program Learning 7 Development Blibli.com David Pintubatu, Senior Legal Brand Specialist Ivan Geraldi, and Social Media Marketing Rizfi Juliansyah in Surabaya, Tuesday (17/07).

“BCA is constantly striving to improve the various business sectors of society in order to grow and progress independently. Various programs have been prepared to support these efforts. Through continuous programs such as seminars and training, BCA is committed to facilitate MSME actors to develop their business in the long term,” explained Chen Lin Andrew.

The program serves as an initial step in developing MSMEs in several cities organized by Bakti BCA for MSME actors spread throughout the country. This time, through the One Opportunity One Million Happiness MSME Workshop, BCA accommodates MSME actors in Surabaya in hope of creating trendsetters. Not only that, these actors will also get an explanation on Trend Digital & E-Commerce on Blibli.com, Do's & Dont's on Blibli.com, Legal Trademarks in Indonesia, Social Media, and a better understanding of how to become a MSME actor.

Chen Lin Andrew added that BCA’s commitment to develop MSMEs in Surabaya is one of BCA’s contributions to facilitate and assist MSME in various regions in Indonesia in developing its businesses. Business Seminars for MSME actors were also held in exploring the potential of loan disbursement in MSME sector. This year, the ratio of MSME loan disbursement is set to reach 20 per cent of the total BCA’s loan portfolio. In 2017, commercial and SME loan distributed by BCA amounting to Rp167.49 trillion or increase by 10.3% (YoY). “Today, the empowerment of MSME can also increase economic activities in Indonesia. We hope that BCA can contribute through the seminars it held to develop MSME in Indonesia so that it can reduce unemployment rate, combat poverty, and create Indonesia’s signature products that can compete both domestically and abroad,” Chen Lin Andrew concluded.
