Bakti BCA Distributes Donation to Flood Victims

Jakarta, 8 March 2021 – As rainy days still occurred in several regions of Indonesia, water-induced disasters such as floods and landslides continue to wreak havoc in the country. Not too long ago, heavy rain had caused flooding in a number of cities including Jakarta, Pekalongan and Karawang. BCA through the Corporate Social Responsibility program, Bakti BCA, is moved to distribute humanitarian aids to flood-affected communities in the said areas.

The flood relief provided by BCA to these communities is a collaborative effort between the Bank BCA and the Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) of Karawang Regency, Batik Pekalongan SME Association, and volunteers who are actively engaged in disaster management. This collaboration enables the distribution of donations to happen more efficiently, according to local need for the affected people and delivered to the people and areas most in need.

“The entire family of BCA expresses concern over the floods that hit several regions in Indonesia not too long ago. The floods have become especially trialsome amid the ongoing pandemic. It is our collective responsibility and that of BCA as the bank of the people to help the affected communities,” said Inge Setiawati, EVP CSR BCA.

The relief package provided by the Bakti BCA is also varied, which includes medicines, staple food packages, public kitchen and clean clothes. This humanitarian action involved local organizations and is the appropriate initiative that directly benefits the communities in need.

“We hope that the aid the Bakti BCA provided can help ease the burden of our fellow countrymen hit by the floods. Together we pray for better flood prevention in the future. It is hoped that this aid can benefit many people,” Inge concluded.
