Lombok, 24 April 2020 – In the fight against Covid-19 in Indonesia, PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BCA) is committed to continuing to support efforts to address and reduce the growth rate of the outbreak. BCA demonstrated its commitment by distributing medical equipment to a number of independent institutions. This time, BCA, through the Bakti BCA, provided assistance to frontline workers in handling COVID-19 in Lombok.
The assistance provided includes face masks, gloves, surgical masks, face shield, and coverall gowns worth almost Rp50 million, submitted by the Head of KCU BCA Cakranegara Indrawanto Sahama to Regent of North Lombok Najmul Akhyar, Head of Samapta Unit of Mataram Police Adjunct Police Commissioner I Gede Sumadra Kerthiawan SH. MH. and dr Lina Nurbaiti M Kes as a representative of the Association of Indonesian Hospitals (PERSI) NTB in KCU BCA Cakranegara, Lombok, Friday (24/04).
“We see that everyone plays an important role in the fight against COVID-19 according to their respective situation and abilities. As one of the financial institutions in Indonesia, BCA also assumed its role in distributing aid to medical workers as the frontline of Covid-19. For this reason, we are here today distributing aid to Lombok. We strive to distribute aid evenly throughout Indonesia. This serves as a form of our commitment to helping the government in handling Covid-19,” said Indrawanto.
Since last March, BCA has consistently provided assistance to various parties in effort to assist the handling of Covid-19 in Indonesia. A number of ventilators and other medical equipments had been donated to several hospitals including RSPAD Gatot Soebroto, RSUPN Dr Cipto Mangunkusumo, RS Eka Hospital BSD and RS St. Carolus Jakarta. Previously, BCA had also made a donation through crowd funding BenihBaik.com. As of now, BCA has donated almost Rp12 billion for Covid-19 mitigation measures in Indonesia.
We hope that the aid we provide can contribute to the efforts of our healthcare workers in handling Covid-19 in Lombok. We always pray for the health of our medical workers as well as Covid-19 patients’ recovery and that life will return to normal. Let’s break the chain of Covid-19 spread by implementing government order that includes social & physical distancing, work from home,” Indrawanto concluded.
