BCA & PT KAI Collaborates to Facilitate Rail Transportation Customers

Jakarta, 11th June 2012 – As effort to constantly satisfy the needs of its costumers, PT BCA signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with PT Kereta Api Indonesia (PT KAI). The signing was done by the director of BCA, Suwignyo Budiman and Chief of KAI, Ignasius Johan.
“This MOU is the initial step which leads to the cooperation partnership, offering various simplicity for rail transportation users who are also BCA customers,” says Suwignyio Budiman.
Moreover, as partner, BCA will always support the PT KAI development of infrastructure project in Indonesia.
The MOU between BCA and PT KAI came up with a result of rail tickets purchase facility through various BCA Delivery Channel such as ATM BCA, BCA KlikPay, B2C e-Commerce MIGS other than via EDC machines, which is already available in several counters of KAI station.
The facility of EDC transaction in several KAI station for the last 2 months has showed high enthusiasm from KAI customers. Payments using the BCA EDC between April – May 2012 were reaching 2,500 transactions with a total nominal value of Rp 2,5 Billion.
For the near future, other expected partnerships are Co-Branding Rail Flazz Card payment cards for train tickets and also as payment tool at BCA merchants, and Co-branding with TITAM Card to purchase intermode ticket.
BCA also provides integrated cash management via KlikBCA Business to manage virtual account of BCA and KAI for KAI approval other than ticket.

It marks our commitment to support company business development in the country, especially in the field of public transportation services," Suwignyo explains.
Ignatius Jonan, president director of PT KAI, also says "The high sales potential for train ticket was still supported by the purchase of tickets through conventional channels, which is at the station counter. The fact is, online purchasing and banking product usage provide more efficiency, in terms of both time and cost. So this is the cooperative effort that is expected to improve services for community, especially the quick and easy way to buy train ticket.”
BCA is always committed in supporting the advancement of public transport services sector, especially in Indonesia. This is in line with the increasing use of public rail transport services. According to Central Bureau of Statistics, the total public train passengers in 2011 reached 16,811 people. Until March 2012, the number had increased to 17,090 people. Previously BCA also has supported users of Pakuan Trans in Bogor and Trans Jogja in Yogyakarta using BCA Flazz card.
Commercial Director of PT KAI, Sulistyo Wimbo Hardjito warmly welcomed this partnership and look forward to the Flazz Railcard or e-channel BCA service. This partnership is hoped to reduce the long queues at the railway station. "Hopefully, this partnership could be improved and not just limited to the particular service only", added Wimbo.
